Star, Youngsport and Gatesville

This weekend was packed with meetings and blessings. First we drove to Star, Texas to sing at a new youth camp fundraiser. The camp, "BANG" was started by our good friends the Watson's and Barrios. Several singing groups came and there was a lunch provided with your donation. It was good to see the old school building being put to good use. Pray for the administrators as they prepare the facilities to become a church camp. They still need to build the shower rooms and that is quite expensive.

Sunday morning we were scheduled to be in Youngsport Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Knight and the church family were waiting there to bless our family with a load of groceries; what a huge blessing! Our cupboards haven't been this full in a very long time. They just about thought of everything. What a loving and sweet church family 😊

there was more than got in the picture. Wow!

That evening we went over and spent some time singing to a former pastor's wife in the nursing home that we heard about while we were in Youngsport. She and another lady sang some hymns with us and enjoyed our company as much as enjoyed theirs. We also saw some really cute birds while we were there.

Mrs. Freida
Zena is a hugger!

Then we were off to Harmony Baptist with Bro. Painter we got there early and the kids enjoyed the playground and met some friendly neighborhood dogs, while Bro. Harrod used the time to study and I tried to rest.

We were able to set up and meet some members and the pastor. A good mix of the generations. We sang and the congregation was very receptive. Praise the Lord! Bro. Harrod preached on good  chacter qualities from the Bible. At one point he wrestled Loty to the ground as a visual and people definitely will be talking about that one for a while. It was a really nice meeting and the pastor was glad to see kids that liked to sing out.

We are praying about a series of meetings that will encourage kids to sing out and use their voices to serve the Lord as well as teach them about Godly music.

Please keep praying for

  • more supporting churches,
  • recording equipment,
  • bus to get remodeled etc.
Thank you, God hears and answers prayers!

San Antonio Trip

Sunday was a great day in the Lord's house! We returned to Texas Baptist church with Pastor Keith Bell and his church. We sang and had Zeke sing one of the songs that he wrote then Bro. Harrod taught the people during Sunday School. That day was "crazy hat day" at the church and it was a lot of fun for the participants and the onlookers alike. A lot of talent in the silly hat department for sure.

Pastor Keith preached on having the peace that passes all understanding. During the invitation the pastor reached over and borrowed Bro. Harrod's bible to lead a man to the Lord! What a blessing to have had a small part in someone getting saved that morning.

We were fed a great pasta after church by one of their sweet ladies in the church and everybody got their fill. It was great getting to know our hostess and some of her family. Later we retired for a Sunday afternoon nap in the prophets chambers. It was nice to be able to relax a little bit in a real bed.

we met a pretty large soldier and posed with him. lol

Later on we returned back to Bro. Ortiz's church where we were last Sunday night and we sang a few songs again for them. We got to hear testimonies and songs and even the youth department got up and sang a beautiful number with instruments. We were then privileged to hear a great man of God and former missionary to Kansas preach what the Lord had put on his heart about our dearest friend, Jesus. He preached in Spanish and every once in a while added an English sentence for our children's benefit. It was a great Valentines message and a lady was convicted of her need for salvation that night and came forward. It was good to be positioned right up front and get to see God working in her heart.
the kids were supersized to receive gifts from the church.

God is working in our ministry and we are seeing his hand. Please continue to pray for us as we go.

San Marcus and San Antonio Double Blessings!

To see and here more of our adventures please follow us on our facebook page. I will have more pictures up there soon.

We were scheduled at Open Door Baptist Church (please click and read their story) on Sunday Morning and the Lord really blessed the singing and both the Sunday School and Church messages.

Our 18th Anniversary

We stayed up late making sure everything was ready to go so that we could leave early in the morning on our trip to San Marcus to meet with Bro. Evans and his flock at Open Door Baptist. They were in a Missions Emphasis and were also having "dinner on the grounds" after church. (Boy, was that meal delicious!)

We had practiced some special missions songs songs; they went very well and the people were blessed. We really loved getting to visit with the people afterwards and we enjoyed watching the baptismal service as well. Zeke brought his banjo out and played for some elderly sisters and they joined in singing with him.

We heard some beautiful piano music played by the pastor's son, Joseph and the congregationals were made extra special by the addition of a horn played by the pastor's other son, Caleb. Caleb has a beautiful family with a sweet little girl that brightens the whole church. My girls loved playing with her and playing ball with Joseph after church.

There was also a great couple who knew my mother from when she was young in San Angelo and they want to start a bus ministry in the church and have been really looking for a church bus. SO if you hear of one PLEASE let us know and we will relay the message.

We got a little rest in the wonderful mission's apartment there at Open Door and then we made plans to attend the First Fundamental Mexican Church of San Antonio where my dad knew the pastor in his Seminary days. My Dad always told me when I was younger at church camp that I should visit that church because I love the Mexican people.

First Fundamental Mexican Baptist Church

It was such an overwhelming blessing for me to visit that church. The music was lively and wonderful and the spirit of God was alive and well there! The antique building was amazing and the people were very friendly. The pastor Bro. Ortiz brought us to set up front and then asked us to sing and Bro. Harrod to preach for the people. My heart was so full and my eyes began to leak. Thank you Pastor and thank you Lord Jesus for such a wonderful experience.

After the services there was a gracious young man that met us and took our family out to eat. He explained that he was planning on attending Bible college soon and had a good talk with us about the things of God. Thank you to Bro. Mark you blessed our souls and our bodies. Jesus Never Fails!

Please keep us in your prayers so that we can fill up our calendar and gain the support that we need to go full time in this ministry that God has placed us into.

OUR GOALS for 2018:

*We are praying for more supporting churches
* We are planning on making our bus more travel friendly.

What's Up With The Harrod Family?

Since January started I have been real busy getting school started back again. For those who want to know:
Zach is 16 will be 17 in March
Zeke is 15 will be 16 in May
Zoi is 14 will be 15 in October
Zeb is 12 will be 13 in February
Zena (like the flower) is 11 will be 12 in October
Loty and Nora are 9 and will be 10 in September

Bro. Harrod has been busy making out our 2018 Singing and Evangelism schedule. There is a lot that goes into scheduling. For example he is making up a list that goes by area code so that we don't schedule two places that are too far apart. This will make things easier to accomplish. So far Bro. Harrod is preaching a mission's conference and a revival for the first time. This is very exciting to see new areas of ministry opening up but also he takes this task very seriously and would appreciate if you start praying with us now for souls to be saved and changed.

We would like to be a blessing everywhere we go. and to see souls saved as well as encouraged to serve with more vigor along our journey. Please pray for our safety on the road and our health. We need to keep strong healthy bodies on our journey. This alone can be a challenge with 7 children as you can imagine, but with God all things are possible!

We are very thankful for the prayer warriors that prayed our ministry along since we started back in April. We never take you for granted and are praying for you as well!

  • 4 cups whole wheat flour (ours is fresh ground)

  1. Preheat & lightly grease a griddle or pan over medium to high heat.
  2. Combine 1 cup of pancake mix with egg, milk & butter or oil.
  3. Pour 1/3 cup batter and cook until bubbles on the surface of the pancakes have popped (about 3-4 minutes). Flip and cook until the underside is light golden (another 1 – 2 minutes).

Each 1 cup of dry pancake mix will make approximately 5 pancakes.
