Standing On Holy Ground!

Saturday a week ago, we wanted to be a blessing to some people that are struggling with grave illnesses so we loaded up the van and headed to see our friend Bro. Phil Stevens (missionary to Africa) and his wife Melody. He was in the hospital in Austin and we knew that he liked to hear us sing and it really blessed him when we had seen him at a church in Lampasas recently. We finally made it there after going to the wrong hospital; he was in so much pain but enjoyed our singing and wanted to share a little testimony with us. He had witnessed in the hospital and God was working on him to be available in any and all situations. Oh that was a blessing to hear him speak from his bed of anguish. We love good preaching! What a man of God! Faithful in all things!

Then we had to travel on and stopped by to see my friend and my mother's friend of many years who had been going through stage 4 cancer treatment to encourage her all that we could. We texted her and found out in the process that it was her birthday as well. God sure knows how to time things for sure! We made it to her house and just had a good time talking to her about her craft room and her jewelry making then we came back into the living room and we sang a few songs for her and she sang one for us in the Indian language that her mother used to sing to her about God. Oh my goodness! Yodi was such an inspiration to us all. She spoke of our Savior with such love and confidence. She told us of how she would never let Satan get her down about this illness. How that if she got down she would look to her God to bring her back up! She would only allow God to use her illness for good not Satan to use it for himself. Then she told us about how the doctors had told her that the cancer looked to be gone and that they were just going to finish out one more round of Chemo to make sure. Praise the Lord! She had to tell me before we left about a time when she was radiating with Christ while at the doctor's office and trying to tell a woman there about Christ but she didn't understand English well and that she just pointed up to the sky and said Jesus! Then a week or so later a man stopped her and told her that that lady was his relative and that she was so impressed by Yodi and her faith and wanted what she had that she found a church and her whole family had come to Christ! Praise the Lord for Christ's work in this willing witness!

After we got back home Bro. Harrod took our dog Hannah to our friends in Marble Falls to stay there while we were gone while the rest of us finished up packing our stuff in the van. We finally got off from the house at about 10 pm. that night and made it to Bro. Welton (Red) Watson's church in San Saba where they had a mission's apartment waiting on us. They were so kind to let us use their place and even went out before we arrived and bought us some breakfast for the next morning. I love bro. Red and Mrs. Arlene they have always been such a blessing to my whole family. I've know them since I was a little girl going to the fellowship that my Dad started.

The next day was Sunday and we got up ready to be a blessing to the people at the revival meeting! God is so good and let us get in on a whole lot of that blessing for our self! This was a good old fashion meeting where God showed up in a mighty powerful way and blessed us in ways that we can't begin to understand or tell. We met so many Watson's and Berrios and loved every minute of that. We met another singing family who also had 7 children some of theirs we older but they were precious to us and treated us like family as did everyone there! It was like coming home and everyone there loving you no matter if you didn't have the greatest outfit or if you totally played the song in the wrong key and had to stop and start over because everyone sounded like hyenas. They just let God in and he loved us through them. Oh how we Harrod's needed that. That spirit of God worked all week at the church till our last night on Wednesday. We saw a young man get saved and also a young lady, Praise the Lord! During this time we also had the privilege of going to the nursing home there in San Saba and singing for the residents there. We just sang several songs for them and then got to spread out and shake hands and introduce ourselves. I got to talk to one lady that reminded me of my Aunt Lily and that was a blessing because she had already passed away. The I got to talk to another lady who wanted to tell me about her time working at the onion marsh for 4 years. We saw that God really loved on them through our singing and we loved their hugs! The zildren enjoyed eating ice cream with Bro. Red afterward and and tried out some "new to them" types of ice cream treats. God is so good and I wish you all were there to have enjoyed it with us!
