See You Later

This week we lost my sweet mother, Gerri Hoover. She was a great supporter of the ministry God gave us. Her and Dad encouraged us to go into the singing evangelism ministry for several years before this year. My mother made sure that I had a Christian education through college and she always wanted to know about our trips when we started traveling. My Mom and Dad pastored for years and years and gave me some preparation for what we are doing now. Without them I would be without a clue.

Mom is now off the prayer list but please continue to keep my Dad in your prayers as well as all of the family and friends. My Mom was a special person loved by many.

The Surprise!

Sunday we were scheduled to be at American Baptist Fellowship Church in Temple, Texas. The Pastor and his wife told us that they had a Surprise for Zoi.....

We got up early to go to church in Temple. We took the bus this time because Bro. Harrod had to fix the brakes on our van. When we got to the church Bro. B and Mrs. Michelle told Zoi that they got her a guitar case full of candy but when she opened it up it was a new guitar!!! She was so excited to see her new guitar she had to sing the only song she has mastered on the guitar for a special!

The service started with us singing a couple of songs and then Bro. Harrod got into the Sunday School lesson on, "The Heart of a Queen." The Sunday School Lesson was so good that he continued that lesson right into the service.

After the service they had prepared a great feast for the whole church and then the people from our church came over and ate with us it was such a blessing to see everyone again. We always miss our home folks. After the meal We sang a few more songs which was a challenge on a full stomach but we never shy away from singing for the Lord! Then we got to hear Bro. Reed preach a great Sermon on the, "Foolishness of Preaching!" The church sent us home with leftovers galore and they have been a big blessing. The ladies there really know how to cook!

Then we went from there over to our home church just down the road and spent some time resting and preparing for the night service. Zeke sang his new song and it was a blessing then we got to get in one the question and answer service which was really good. Our pastor, Bro. Reed takes the Bible and answers Bible questions and questions from life as well. This is such a blessing to the family and encourages us all to be reading our Bibles.

After the services we were privileged to go and see Bro. Gentry in the hospital. He has been moved the recovering part of the hospital and only has about 3 pumps feeding him right now instead of the 12 pumps that were keeping him alive a couple of weeks ago. Praise the Lord we heard good reports of how God turned him around after he almost died with a blood clot. The blood clot dissolved and they say that he should be able to go home in another 2 weeks. Thank you God for miracles! We let Zeke sing his new song to him and it was an encouragement.

Flower Mound Texas

This weekend we were privileged to attend Grace Baptist Church in Flower Mound, Texas. The people there were very kind and friendly.......

On Saturday we traveled to Flower Mound near Fort Worth, Texas. We arrived at the church and were met by a great sound man, Bro. Danny Alfred, who helped us get our mikes tested and the sound set for the Sunday services. We also met up with our friends the Oldenkamps and had some of the best chili I have ever tasted made with pumpkin. It was great thank you Mrs. Oldenkamp.  After everything was set for the next day's service we were scheduled to sing downtown. The church was a holding services at the downtown homeless mission. We were really excited about the services because we love ministering to the homeless.

We got there and went into the meeting room where there were about 250 homeless men waiting for our arrival. It was amazing to see them all hungry for what the Lord had for them. We sang 4 songs and they really liked them by the looks on their faces. The pastor of Grace Baptist in Flower Mound, Bro. Warren Johnson, really preached a soul stirring message!  We were about ready to get saved all over again! Just kidding, once saved always saved! It was good to feel God's Spirit at work and see the men come forward at the close of the sermon.

After the services everyone loaded up taking some of our children with them so that we didn't have to take the bus, and we followed the men over to the Cracker Barrel. Everyone had a great time there, I loved the handmade lemonade and Bro. Harrod had a nice time getting to know the man that illustrated our children's school work. The kids stayed entertained by another man who played games on paper with them. I really appreciated this kind of thoughtfulness. God is good to seat us with the right people.

We got to the Oldenkamp's house and enjoyed their hospitality and the warmth of their beautiful home. We set up the air mattresses that I had been traveling on (much better on my back than the hard seats) for the younger boys and the bigger one for the girls. Our friends had some extra blankets ready for us and we slept cozy until the next morning. Thank you Jesus for providing once again.

Bro. Harrod taught the Sunday School class for the youth and the kids got a taste of their Sunday school classes there. Zoi met a new friend and they hit it off right away. We sang later that evening for the afternoon service and went through several songs. We enjoyed our time there and the people that we met. I met a lady that told me about her 7 children and how they got together for family reunions in different places. It was really nice to see Mrs. Vickie and her husband again.

We pulled ourselves on to the bus and rested until our next stop in Waco at Greater Waco Baptist church and we were met by a man, Bro. Ellis, that we knew from our younger years when my husband and I went to Trinity Baptist Church in Arlington, Tx. The pastor also met with us briefly and had us sing one song. it was great getting to sing there and then we enjoyed a great sermon from the pastor.

I remembered Mrs. Ellis from the fact that she was Mrs. Gonzales' mother the Spanish Pastor's wife. I went to the Spanish department at that church years ago when I was in my last year of college. Oh, it was so good to reunite with her and find out that she was doing good and to hear about her daughter and that family that was so dear to me. God encouraged my heart and I am grateful! Don't forget to encourage someone along your way.

It was a long day but a good one. Keep praying for our needs. God knows them all, but here are some of them:

At Calvary

This weekend we were going to spend some time back at our home church in Temple........

Friday my family got together to celebrate my Mom and Dad's anniversary. My brother Andy went over to the Nursing Home to pick up my dad and bring him out to Bertram to be with my Mom where she is staying with her cousin Mrs. Amidon. Mom spent the day in the bed as she has been doing lately; sometimes she will go to the living room to be in the recliner but most of the time she is too week to do that for long. My Dad was content to sit in his wheelchair with her by his side. He has missed seeing her and she him. (Pray for Dad he has been having a lot of soreness in his shoulder.) It was a good time together with family from both sides of the family attending.

Then on Sunday we got up early and went up to Temple back to Calvary Baptist Church where we got to hear our pastor Bro. Reed preach and see our sweet friends who are faithfully praying for our ministry and family. We took a nap in the pews between services and for the kids time before service Bro. Reed asked me to fill in for sister Reed because she was out sick.  I got together with Zach and we did a short lesson and a craft activity of making cards, posters and letters for a dear man who was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and has been in the hospital there in Temple. Our kids got to know him through youth camp. He and his wife and family went to the same camp and are from Riverside Baptist Church in Meridian that we attended with Bro. George Watson a while back. Please keep Bro. Rick Gentry wife Tiffany and their children in your prayers. Here is their gofundme page.

During the discipleship class between services Bro. Reed asked Bro. Harrod to preach his sermon on, "Purpose." We sang a few songs and Bro. Harrod brought the sermon that God had been laying on his heart. Later, after the services we headed down to the hospital and got to see Bro. Gentry and his wife. We surprised them with a mini concert and God really blessed. Bro. gentry has been in the hospital for about 3 weeks and has had at least 2 surgeries to remove tumor infected areas.

We gave them the posters that the kids from church had made and saw that their girls were super great artist and had some beautiful artwork on the walls, so we just added to all of the beautiful work already there. They said that the posters and cards are a real encouragement to him and their family and they would look at them and remember our visit.

We hugged them and went out to the lobby to look out the window one last time at the view; we were on the top floor and it was pretty neat. But as we were going to do that there were nurses and technicians speeding through the halls. I knew that wasn't good and heard bells going off. It was a matter of life and death. Then I looked over in the waiting room and saw a lady who was crying and the chaplain beside her I kept looking at her because I knew she needed something from me. Then the man said that they were trying to save her husband. I told her that I was praying for her and gave her a hug. Such a heart wrenching moment. It was sad to see she was all alone to deal with this but then I remembered that she said it was all in God's hands now. She was not alone! God sent me to give her a hug from him. I know that hugs give strength to the weary. I'm glad I could be used to help this hurting lady.

Last night my Mom went into the ER to get platelets her platelet count was down to a 5. I called my good friend Mrs. Vickie Pierce (she had offered to stay with the kids if I needed her)  and she stayed with the kids until Bro. Harrod got home from work, what a blessing! I spent the night with her in the hospital. It went pretty good but she was in some pain and didn't get much sleep. Pray she gets to rest today.

We are preparing for a longer trip again to the Fort Worth area this weekend so pray all goes well.

Even In The Valley God Is Good!

We were scheduled to be at Main Street Baptist Church this Sunday morning in Burnet Texas (which is the town we live in) so that didn't take us too far down the road. As usual the Devil always wants to put a dent in your spirit and he was working hard on ours. This week I found out my Mom who is battling Leukemia doesn't have much farther to go before she meets Jesus. Its been really tough but knowing Heaven awaits her is a great comfort. Knowing that death can be pleasant and doesn't have to be scary is also a blessing. Its at times like these that having a Savior in Jesus is literally saving my life! I am a very empathetic person so I have to take a step back at times and just be still and know that HE is God and has everything in control!

I was really wanting to get to see my Dad today and thankfully as we were arriving I saw that my brother who goes to Main Street Baptist had picked up my Dad from the Nursing Home and brought him to church. It was so good to see him! He got to sit beside us in his wheel chair and I was able to hold his hand some of the time. It was very nice.

Sunday was our third oldest and first daughter Zoi's birthday; she turned 14 years old and she wanted to sing a special song with her guitar for the first time. She has been working hard on that song and God really used that song to touch my heart. I will try to post that song on the facebook fan page. She sang it later in the day to my Mom.

We had a great day at Main Street with Bro. White, his family and church. Bro. Harrod's Mom and step Dad came to the service and we got to share lunch with them after church, that was a blessing to spend some quality family time with them as well.

After our "Baptist Nap" we were up and going so we decided to head over to a church near by but that church had canceled the night service so we went on down the road but everywhere we tried to go had already finished their service so we decided to go and share some music and devotional time with my Mom and cousin Mrs. Amidon. Mom hasn't been able to get to church lately and this is just what she needed to brighten her day! It was so good to see her smile real big and give her lots of hugs from the zildren. I know this is what I needed but I think my husband and children needed this too. Thank you Jesus for directing our paths!

Zena fixed Mom up for a pose, lol.

Lately Bro. Harrod has been rearranging the seats in our bus so that we can fit some air mattresses in there to lay down on our next long trip. Pray that God will give him the time to finish this project. One day we plan to put some fold up bunk beds in there. Little by Little!

Meeting At The Rock

This Sunday we were scheduled to sing at Victory Baptist Church in Copperas Cove , Texas , but first we stopped in at Round Rock Baptist Church and the pastor there invited us to be apart of their Sunday morning worship and help them kick off their fall program. It was great getting to know the pastor and his family. He was very kind and was helpful. They tried to send some free gold fish home with us from the program but we thought twice and told him they would probably boil in our van when we stopped to eat.

From the church in Round Rock we stopped for a bite to eat and God blessed with providing an anonymous person to pay for our meal. That was very unexpected and sent us singing down the road to our next stop. We wanted to get some cool water to drink for our hot ride; we drove the van since it wasn't very far and Bro. Harrod is in the middle of rearranging our bus so that we can fit some beds in there for our next trip. So we went to the dollar store and picked up water and some hair fixin' supplies so that the girls hair would be nice for the evening service.

Girls window Shopping Nora met an old Man. lol Who is that masked woman?

Boys Window Shopping and trying Dad sniffing the candles. We had time to kill while waiting for our seat.

Funny candy and more window shopping. Its more inexpensive this way and doesn't clutter the house. lol

On we went down the road listening to the GPS tell us our exits opps we had two on and almost missed our exit. Yes I set my phone to go to the dollar store and Bro. Harrod set his phone for the church. Thankfully Bro. Harrod figured that out and didn't have us going in circles. Lol

We made it to the church and I fixed on the girls hair a little and then we practiced the songs that we were going to sing. We visited with some of the folks there. Zach and Zeke are friends with some of the teen boys there and the other kids are friends with some younger children that we knew when we went to church with them at another church. It is always nice to have familiar faces for the kids to come to. God always knows how to work things out for us like that.

After the service we were greeted warmly and noticed that many were blessed. This is always an answer to our prayers because this is what we were called to do. We still feel amazed that God is using us. Thank you for your support and prayers. Things are tight right now while we are gathering support but God is always on time and supplies our every need.

Don't forget to pray for my parents they are having a rough time. My Mom especially is going through the fire. Her health is going down even more. She got some medicine for the pain she was having last week so hopefully she will get to feeling better soon.

Fort Worth Trip A.C. Problems and Blessings

We left Saturday afternoon at about 2:30 for the Fort Worth area. We first had to stop at the Stripes gas station to pick up an electric wheat grinder we had gotten on Craig's List. This will help us make home made bread to keep us healthy and strong for the road. We met our party and they were great to wait for us and deliver the unit. I can't wait to get that going we had one before and it was ran until it finally gave up the ghost!

Then we were off to meet the preacher down at Killeen who helped us understand our A.C. better and showed us how to make it run cooler. That worked real good for a little while and then the A.C, quit on us completely. I believe it was the belt. So we should be able to get that repaired and running soon.

Then we were back on the road and finally made it over to our friend's house in the Fort Worth area for a great place to stay in the nice cool air with sweet Christian folks and amazingly scrumptious food. The kids enjoyed playing with their toddler and baby and then we showered and bedded down for the night. I took some much needed pain medicine for my back and prayed for relief in the morning.

We rose early the next morning, got dressed and ready and had our breakfast that was already ready in the crock pot of Mrs. Oldenkamp. What an wonderful blessing she was on top of juggling her own family and home life she managed to fit all of us in to her schedule. I know God will give her blessings for her involvement in the work of the Lord! Praise God for this faithful family! They were a huge blessing to us!

We rushed off to the bus and deposited our still sleepy bodies into our seats. Bro. Harrod got out our directions to the church and hit the trail. We arrived and met our contact Bro. Dodson and he showed the Z-kids to their Sunday School rooms and myself and Bro. Harrod to the auditorium. They also asked if I could play the piano and help them out because they didn't have a permanent piano player yet. Jojin us in praying that God would bless them in their need! ( I met a young lady there who was teaching herself to play the piano and was doing a great job at it with no prior piano lessons. I helped her a little and am really looking forward to what God will do with her) The morning Service was great we even were asked to sing a song for the morning special to get the services started.

That afternoon we were planning on taking our Baptist nap in the Sunday School rooms which I really needed because my back was still giving me a lot of trouble and when we got back to the church the power was out. Oh no, I thought, hoping that the air would be cool in the other building. When I climbed the stairs I found out that the air was not cool and I tried to make myself comfortable any way. Then I asked all of you that follow our facebook group to help out by praying that the electricity would come back on. It wasn't long after I decided to bring yall into it that sure enough God answered and came through for us. the electricity came back on and I hit the a.c. button right away. There was a window unit and our room was super cool in no time. Bro. Harrod brought up our air mattress to help my back and we rested until the evening service. I'm so glad God gave me a man that cares about how I feel. That was so much better than laying on some chairs.

Unfortunately I didn't get any sleep but at least I was cool and comfortable. I forced myself up and got our things ready to go back on the bus. Took some pain medicine and prayed for relief. I was excited about how God was going to move and what he was up to in the services because I knew that God works his best when we are at our weakest. Before the services got started good there was a prayer request time and a lady that was talking to me before the services, asked that the church pray for my back. That brought tears to my eyes and after a while I started to feel the pain relief that we had all prayed for. Thank you Jesus for helping me through.

The kids sang a few songs and then it was time for the preaching. The preaching was great and I could tell that God was at work in the service. People got involved and the attention to the message was great! We are praying that God will raise up some young people, men and women there that will turn the world upside down! We really enjoyed the church's involvement in the bus ministry; that was a blessing to see how much they care about the children in the area. The front pews were filled with children and teens that rode the bus and they were rewarded for paying attention during the sermon. That made me smile and I'm sure that made the heavenly Father smile with joy!

God met with us that night and showed us great and mighty things. He showed the Harrod family how he provides for our every need even when the need is great! We had been praying about some special prayer requests and God had come through once again.  He showed me his healing if even for a few minutes while we sang and preached. He showed the people that he loved them and wanted them to keep going fighting the Devil!

We got back on the bus and headed toward home. Stopped at a fast food place to get some food. After we ate we asked if we could sing for them since it was about empty and gave out our family tracts to them. Thank God for his gospel! Pray for the seed that was sewn.

We finally made it home about an hour later than planed because the GPS took us down some back roads that were really windy. Thanks to everyone who prayed there were zero engine troubles and that is a miracle for a bus that sat for 4 years! God is so good!

Oh boy today is the twins birthday I better get off of here and get busy there is a cake to be had sometime today! That may  mean I have to make it. Gotta go! Keep us in your prayers.

Check out Jr. below he is so sweet! I just had to share his great smile with the world!

Clifton and Meridian

We woke up at 5 a.m. and left the house by 7:15 in our Beautiful Behemoth. (Bus) We took the back roads and enjoyed some awesome scenery of the rolling lush hills. Thank you Lord for the rain! Arrival time was around 9:30 and the set up went pretty fast.  It was so good to see Bro. George Watson and his wife Kim and to be back in their church. I had not been there for about 14 years. Bro. George and his wife had a rough week with a fire on their property and Mrs. Kim with sickness. God brought them through to rejoice in his provision. I was so glad that we could cheer them up with God's music and message.

After the morning service there was a fellowship and we got to know some of their people and enjoy some good home cooking. From there we crashed on their pews for a few minutes. (I can't wait until we get our bus set up with places to sleep.) Before we knew it it was time to hit the road and find the Nursing Home down the street. The nursing home was ready for us and we went on in to the meeting room. There were only a few people when we started singing and then before we knew it the place was full and people were lined up in the halls. It was so neat how they do things there. They pipe all services through to each room so that everyone can here.

After we sang Bro. George was charged up and ready to Rare back and letter rip! He preached good and hard on salvation and I wouldn't be surprised if more than one person received Christ as their personal savior. When he was finished preaching the people knew how they could get saved and they knew that Jesus was the one that saves! I really wished that I could have got that sermon recorded. The Holy Spirit was upon him!

We went from there to get a snack at Dairy Queen and enjoy God's goodness! The kids had some friends from summer camp ride along in our bus and had a great time reconnecting over an ice cream cone. Thank you Bro. George! I really needed that extra sugar to help me through the long day.

Next came our trip down the road to Meridian Texas, where Fundamental Baptist and Riverside Baptist were joining their services for a special service to honor the elderly. We had the privilege to sing there at Riverside and uplift the congregation. There were at least 2 people there who were over 90 years old. I'm so glad to have been a part of what God was doing there. We also enjoyed their time of fellowship afterwards where the kids met up with more of their camp friends and had a great time. Bro. Harrod and I enjoyed great Christian fellowship in the Lord. the Ladies really brought out some good truths from their journey with Christ that encouraged me on my way.

Zach was under the weather and suffering from allergies. We let him sit out so that his throat could have a break. Pray that he will return to great health we are trying a new allergy medication.

Bro. George's grand daughter. Cutie!

God's Wondorous Ways

All last week was tough on me. My Dad is in the hospital recovering from foot surgery and my Mom is home with Lukemia not doing so good. I am privileged to take care of them and do for them when they can't do for themselves. Please keep them in your prayers. They need extra grace right now.

We sang to Dad on Saturday in the hospital then we went and sang to my Uncle John at his place. It was a joy to see them both perk up and enjoy the goodness of God through music and fellowship. We all got some hugs and handshakes in as well.

We were up at 5am and off by 7am we traveled to San Marcus and visited Open Door Baptist Church with Pastor Evans and Mrs. Evans. They had a pretty building and a friendly church family. We enjoyed the congregations singing and the pianist was great he was playing the piano in a brace from having suffered a bad fall breaking his back and neck. Wow that is great that God spared his young life and he is giving God the glory through playing the piano. That alone encouraged my heart!

Between services we stayed in their mission house. We didn't realize that was available and it proved to be a huge blessing to be able to really get some rest between services. It was decorated nice and built well also. Somebody did a great job!

The church was blessed with the singing and preaching we were blessed with God's presence and the sweet fellowship with God's people.
