Even In The Valley God Is Good!

We were scheduled to be at Main Street Baptist Church this Sunday morning in Burnet Texas (which is the town we live in) so that didn't take us too far down the road. As usual the Devil always wants to put a dent in your spirit and he was working hard on ours. This week I found out my Mom who is battling Leukemia doesn't have much farther to go before she meets Jesus. Its been really tough but knowing Heaven awaits her is a great comfort. Knowing that death can be pleasant and doesn't have to be scary is also a blessing. Its at times like these that having a Savior in Jesus is literally saving my life! I am a very empathetic person so I have to take a step back at times and just be still and know that HE is God and has everything in control!

I was really wanting to get to see my Dad today and thankfully as we were arriving I saw that my brother who goes to Main Street Baptist had picked up my Dad from the Nursing Home and brought him to church. It was so good to see him! He got to sit beside us in his wheel chair and I was able to hold his hand some of the time. It was very nice.

Sunday was our third oldest and first daughter Zoi's birthday; she turned 14 years old and she wanted to sing a special song with her guitar for the first time. She has been working hard on that song and God really used that song to touch my heart. I will try to post that song on the facebook fan page. She sang it later in the day to my Mom.

We had a great day at Main Street with Bro. White, his family and church. Bro. Harrod's Mom and step Dad came to the service and we got to share lunch with them after church, that was a blessing to spend some quality family time with them as well.

After our "Baptist Nap" we were up and going so we decided to head over to a church near by but that church had canceled the night service so we went on down the road but everywhere we tried to go had already finished their service so we decided to go and share some music and devotional time with my Mom and cousin Mrs. Amidon. Mom hasn't been able to get to church lately and this is just what she needed to brighten her day! It was so good to see her smile real big and give her lots of hugs from the zildren. I know this is what I needed but I think my husband and children needed this too. Thank you Jesus for directing our paths!

Zena fixed Mom up for a pose, lol.

Lately Bro. Harrod has been rearranging the seats in our bus so that we can fit some air mattresses in there to lay down on our next long trip. Pray that God will give him the time to finish this project. One day we plan to put some fold up bunk beds in there. Little by Little!

Meeting At The Rock

This Sunday we were scheduled to sing at Victory Baptist Church in Copperas Cove , Texas , but first we stopped in at Round Rock Baptist Church and the pastor there invited us to be apart of their Sunday morning worship and help them kick off their fall program. It was great getting to know the pastor and his family. He was very kind and was helpful. They tried to send some free gold fish home with us from the program but we thought twice and told him they would probably boil in our van when we stopped to eat.

From the church in Round Rock we stopped for a bite to eat and God blessed with providing an anonymous person to pay for our meal. That was very unexpected and sent us singing down the road to our next stop. We wanted to get some cool water to drink for our hot ride; we drove the van since it wasn't very far and Bro. Harrod is in the middle of rearranging our bus so that we can fit some beds in there for our next trip. So we went to the dollar store and picked up water and some hair fixin' supplies so that the girls hair would be nice for the evening service.

Girls window Shopping Nora met an old Man. lol Who is that masked woman?

Boys Window Shopping and trying Dad sniffing the candles. We had time to kill while waiting for our seat.

Funny candy and more window shopping. Its more inexpensive this way and doesn't clutter the house. lol

On we went down the road listening to the GPS tell us our exits opps we had two on and almost missed our exit. Yes I set my phone to go to the dollar store and Bro. Harrod set his phone for the church. Thankfully Bro. Harrod figured that out and didn't have us going in circles. Lol

We made it to the church and I fixed on the girls hair a little and then we practiced the songs that we were going to sing. We visited with some of the folks there. Zach and Zeke are friends with some of the teen boys there and the other kids are friends with some younger children that we knew when we went to church with them at another church. It is always nice to have familiar faces for the kids to come to. God always knows how to work things out for us like that.

After the service we were greeted warmly and noticed that many were blessed. This is always an answer to our prayers because this is what we were called to do. We still feel amazed that God is using us. Thank you for your support and prayers. Things are tight right now while we are gathering support but God is always on time and supplies our every need.

Don't forget to pray for my parents they are having a rough time. My Mom especially is going through the fire. Her health is going down even more. She got some medicine for the pain she was having last week so hopefully she will get to feeling better soon.

Fort Worth Trip A.C. Problems and Blessings

We left Saturday afternoon at about 2:30 for the Fort Worth area. We first had to stop at the Stripes gas station to pick up an electric wheat grinder we had gotten on Craig's List. This will help us make home made bread to keep us healthy and strong for the road. We met our party and they were great to wait for us and deliver the unit. I can't wait to get that going we had one before and it was ran until it finally gave up the ghost!

Then we were off to meet the preacher down at Killeen who helped us understand our A.C. better and showed us how to make it run cooler. That worked real good for a little while and then the A.C, quit on us completely. I believe it was the belt. So we should be able to get that repaired and running soon.

Then we were back on the road and finally made it over to our friend's house in the Fort Worth area for a great place to stay in the nice cool air with sweet Christian folks and amazingly scrumptious food. The kids enjoyed playing with their toddler and baby and then we showered and bedded down for the night. I took some much needed pain medicine for my back and prayed for relief in the morning.

We rose early the next morning, got dressed and ready and had our breakfast that was already ready in the crock pot of Mrs. Oldenkamp. What an wonderful blessing she was on top of juggling her own family and home life she managed to fit all of us in to her schedule. I know God will give her blessings for her involvement in the work of the Lord! Praise God for this faithful family! They were a huge blessing to us!

We rushed off to the bus and deposited our still sleepy bodies into our seats. Bro. Harrod got out our directions to the church and hit the trail. We arrived and met our contact Bro. Dodson and he showed the Z-kids to their Sunday School rooms and myself and Bro. Harrod to the auditorium. They also asked if I could play the piano and help them out because they didn't have a permanent piano player yet. Jojin us in praying that God would bless them in their need! ( I met a young lady there who was teaching herself to play the piano and was doing a great job at it with no prior piano lessons. I helped her a little and am really looking forward to what God will do with her) The morning Service was great we even were asked to sing a song for the morning special to get the services started.

That afternoon we were planning on taking our Baptist nap in the Sunday School rooms which I really needed because my back was still giving me a lot of trouble and when we got back to the church the power was out. Oh no, I thought, hoping that the air would be cool in the other building. When I climbed the stairs I found out that the air was not cool and I tried to make myself comfortable any way. Then I asked all of you that follow our facebook group to help out by praying that the electricity would come back on. It wasn't long after I decided to bring yall into it that sure enough God answered and came through for us. the electricity came back on and I hit the a.c. button right away. There was a window unit and our room was super cool in no time. Bro. Harrod brought up our air mattress to help my back and we rested until the evening service. I'm so glad God gave me a man that cares about how I feel. That was so much better than laying on some chairs.

Unfortunately I didn't get any sleep but at least I was cool and comfortable. I forced myself up and got our things ready to go back on the bus. Took some pain medicine and prayed for relief. I was excited about how God was going to move and what he was up to in the services because I knew that God works his best when we are at our weakest. Before the services got started good there was a prayer request time and a lady that was talking to me before the services, asked that the church pray for my back. That brought tears to my eyes and after a while I started to feel the pain relief that we had all prayed for. Thank you Jesus for helping me through.

The kids sang a few songs and then it was time for the preaching. The preaching was great and I could tell that God was at work in the service. People got involved and the attention to the message was great! We are praying that God will raise up some young people, men and women there that will turn the world upside down! We really enjoyed the church's involvement in the bus ministry; that was a blessing to see how much they care about the children in the area. The front pews were filled with children and teens that rode the bus and they were rewarded for paying attention during the sermon. That made me smile and I'm sure that made the heavenly Father smile with joy!

God met with us that night and showed us great and mighty things. He showed the Harrod family how he provides for our every need even when the need is great! We had been praying about some special prayer requests and God had come through once again.  He showed me his healing if even for a few minutes while we sang and preached. He showed the people that he loved them and wanted them to keep going fighting the Devil!

We got back on the bus and headed toward home. Stopped at a fast food place to get some food. After we ate we asked if we could sing for them since it was about empty and gave out our family tracts to them. Thank God for his gospel! Pray for the seed that was sewn.

We finally made it home about an hour later than planed because the GPS took us down some back roads that were really windy. Thanks to everyone who prayed there were zero engine troubles and that is a miracle for a bus that sat for 4 years! God is so good!

Oh boy today is the twins birthday I better get off of here and get busy there is a cake to be had sometime today! That may  mean I have to make it. Gotta go! Keep us in your prayers.

Check out Jr. below he is so sweet! I just had to share his great smile with the world!

Clifton and Meridian

We woke up at 5 a.m. and left the house by 7:15 in our Beautiful Behemoth. (Bus) We took the back roads and enjoyed some awesome scenery of the rolling lush hills. Thank you Lord for the rain! Arrival time was around 9:30 and the set up went pretty fast.  It was so good to see Bro. George Watson and his wife Kim and to be back in their church. I had not been there for about 14 years. Bro. George and his wife had a rough week with a fire on their property and Mrs. Kim with sickness. God brought them through to rejoice in his provision. I was so glad that we could cheer them up with God's music and message.

After the morning service there was a fellowship and we got to know some of their people and enjoy some good home cooking. From there we crashed on their pews for a few minutes. (I can't wait until we get our bus set up with places to sleep.) Before we knew it it was time to hit the road and find the Nursing Home down the street. The nursing home was ready for us and we went on in to the meeting room. There were only a few people when we started singing and then before we knew it the place was full and people were lined up in the halls. It was so neat how they do things there. They pipe all services through to each room so that everyone can here.

After we sang Bro. George was charged up and ready to Rare back and letter rip! He preached good and hard on salvation and I wouldn't be surprised if more than one person received Christ as their personal savior. When he was finished preaching the people knew how they could get saved and they knew that Jesus was the one that saves! I really wished that I could have got that sermon recorded. The Holy Spirit was upon him!

We went from there to get a snack at Dairy Queen and enjoy God's goodness! The kids had some friends from summer camp ride along in our bus and had a great time reconnecting over an ice cream cone. Thank you Bro. George! I really needed that extra sugar to help me through the long day.

Next came our trip down the road to Meridian Texas, where Fundamental Baptist and Riverside Baptist were joining their services for a special service to honor the elderly. We had the privilege to sing there at Riverside and uplift the congregation. There were at least 2 people there who were over 90 years old. I'm so glad to have been a part of what God was doing there. We also enjoyed their time of fellowship afterwards where the kids met up with more of their camp friends and had a great time. Bro. Harrod and I enjoyed great Christian fellowship in the Lord. the Ladies really brought out some good truths from their journey with Christ that encouraged me on my way.

Zach was under the weather and suffering from allergies. We let him sit out so that his throat could have a break. Pray that he will return to great health we are trying a new allergy medication.

Bro. George's grand daughter. Cutie!

God's Wondorous Ways

All last week was tough on me. My Dad is in the hospital recovering from foot surgery and my Mom is home with Lukemia not doing so good. I am privileged to take care of them and do for them when they can't do for themselves. Please keep them in your prayers. They need extra grace right now.

We sang to Dad on Saturday in the hospital then we went and sang to my Uncle John at his place. It was a joy to see them both perk up and enjoy the goodness of God through music and fellowship. We all got some hugs and handshakes in as well.

We were up at 5am and off by 7am we traveled to San Marcus and visited Open Door Baptist Church with Pastor Evans and Mrs. Evans. They had a pretty building and a friendly church family. We enjoyed the congregations singing and the pianist was great he was playing the piano in a brace from having suffered a bad fall breaking his back and neck. Wow that is great that God spared his young life and he is giving God the glory through playing the piano. That alone encouraged my heart!

Between services we stayed in their mission house. We didn't realize that was available and it proved to be a huge blessing to be able to really get some rest between services. It was decorated nice and built well also. Somebody did a great job!

The church was blessed with the singing and preaching we were blessed with God's presence and the sweet fellowship with God's people.

Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!

This weekend has been a huge blessing! The rains came and we had Bro. Harrod home so we wanted to get out and do something even though it was raining. We thought about what to do and finally came up with going to visit the capitol in Austin. The kids had never been and wanted to go so we were excited already.

We got there and it was raining so Bro. Harrod dropped us off real close and we hurried to the front door. We went through the medal detector and Zach had to be rechecked because of his watch I think. I think that may have raised his excitement level a little as well. lol

We checked out the very large paintings in the front entry and waited for Bro. Harrod to arrive. Once he caught up to us we enjoyed the great architecture and the stairs to the circular balcony. We decided that the acoustics were great in that building and we wanted to try out singing in the Capitol and see if they didn't run us off. It was great fun and we heard several people around the building clap when we finished it surprised us a bit. You can see us singing there on our face book page. I will try to add some more videos later we had a load of fun.

When we left the capitol again it was raining and we were walking out without umbrellas. (its hard to keep that many umbrellas) A man behind us offered to let me and the girls share his large umbrella. It worked somewhat but there was a lot of wind. I didn't mind a few drops. When we got to the main road there was a tour bus parked there and the man running the tour asked us if we wanted a free ride to our van in the parking garage. He said he was going that way anyway and we were so excited to ride in a tour bus. Riding in a tour bus made us think that we would be doing that soon on a regular basis when God gave us our own.

Sunday we got ready to go to Mountainview Baptist Church. I was in a lot of pain from my arthritis in my back and I was praying that all of that would clear up for the service.  We had a good time singing on the way in the rain. We set up the sound system and got ready to sing for the Adult Sunday School hour. The Lord is good and I began feeling a lot better after the services.

The Pastor is a 4th degree black belt and had some training equipment in his office that he was showing the younger kids while we were loading up the van and the older boys got to learn how to break a board. It was so fun for them because we have been praying about taking martial arts lessons for a long time. God is so good to give us some of the desires of our hearts along the way. The Pastor and his wife, Bro. and Mrs. Whitley offered to take us to Golden Corral. The kids had never been there and they thought we had died and gone to heaven! Lol. It was a good time of food and fellowship.

We decided to drop in at a church that night that we hadn't been to as a family, Northside Baptist in Killeen. We were met and greeted and some of the kids got to attend the Master's Club program going on in the back. They were just starting thier program back up again and there was snacks the kids enjoyed. The rest of us were pretty tired and enjoyed resting and looking around. Zach and I got a tour of the school building and baby quilt ministry room. The ladies there make quilts for needy families and distribute them to the fireman and police to help cover a child in some of the greatest time of need. It was really neat!

The pastor preached a great sermon on our adversaries within and without and our Great Advocate the Lord Jesus Christ! Then after church he wanted to hear us sing in the fellowship hall after the kids ate their ice cream left over from the Master's Club.

We were just about on our way back home when Bro. Harrod got us all together and told us that God had answered one of biggest prayers on our prayer list! Surprise we got a bus!!!! B-U-S! the folks at Charity Baptist church had voted to give us their bus that they were not using. It had been sitting for a while but the Pastor told us that it ran well when they parked it. the Pastor at Northside was so kind and prayed God's blessing upon our ministry before we left and we were on cloud nine as we jumped back in the van to see our new bus up close and personal!

Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!

better pictures to come. lol

God's handiwork!

Now Bro. Harrod , Zach and Zeke are off to work on the Bus and see if they can bring her home!

Thank you ALL so much for praying for our family and holding us up in prayer. This bus is a miracle from the Lord. We are looking forward to the great work that God has mapped out for us to accomplish with great joy. YOU were a part of that you prayed that bus in for us and your faith added to our faith has been great to keep us going. Its not all roses all of the time there are many everyday stresses in our lives and we are praying now for the funds to fix the bus the way God wants us to and praying about how we should do that. We are also praying about the right time for Bro. Harrod to quit his job and go full time in this ministry. Thank you for following our ministry and being a part of this joy we have!

Sweetness!

Church was great at Charity Baptist Church in Killeen, Texas. The church was located in a community outside of Killeen and we left early Sunday morning admittedly very groggy and sleepy.

We arrived at the church in plenty of time to get things set up. Zach and Zeke heaved the tall speakers into the building and Dad set up the microphones while Zoi set up the display and crocheted items on a table in the foyer of the building. I was so proud to see how they were all working together to do God's work. While they were bringing in and setting up,  I was praying for God to join us and show him self powerful in this place!

Everything was set up so we practiced a few songs to check the sound quality and I got to help with that by sitting in different places in the auditorium and letting Bro. Harrod know which microphones needed to be adjusted. It was nice to be apart of everything as a family.  To be a part of a ministry that was custom built by God is an amazing journey of faith and not just on Sundays.

We sang and Bro. Harrod taught Sunday School and preached for the morning service then we took a break for a meal and fellowship. We met a whole group of friendly people who got along well with each other. It was sweet to be at a church that was definitely named properly. Charity is just what they had!

After our meal and fellowship time we returned to the auditorium for the afternoon service, where Bro. Harrod spoke on being someone's blessing. We had such a great time talking and listening to the pastor. There is a unique ministry there where the young are being bused in at every service and taught to be a part of a local church and the adults are being fed the word and encouraged to love each other, serve each other and grow in the Lord while doing so. It was wonderful!

That evening we headed back over to our home church so we could be with our home folks. We enjoy every opportunity to return home and be with the church that God placed us in. Our pastor and the people met us and welcomed us back home and it was a sweet time of reunion. Several of the members wanted to know how things were going and how my Mom and Dad were doing. Some even asked for our phone number and it was so nice to be thought of. During the week can be so hard to get through for us but oh it is so wonderful to see how God has sent some godly people to pray for us and care about what is going on in our world. Thank you Jesus!

Then pastor Reed asked Bro. Harrod to preach the evening service and I laughed but Bro. Harrod told him he had already preached three times but would love to preach again for our home church.
God was good and he spoke about really seeing a person and what they are needing and not just looking at them and passing by. God was good again in that service and hearts were stirred to serve Christ better by serving others.

A good Christian brother, Bro. Travis, took us out for supper before we drove back home and we had a wonderful time! We got to fellowship with him and hear how his life has been going and what we needed to pray about. He has been having some health concerns and he also needs some prayer for some family members if you would like to pray with us.

The zildren love talking and had spent some time talking to the cashier and she was very kind to them so we sang her a song before we left for her kindness. Then the ladies there made the kids some fresh ice cream cones and gave them to the kids for their singing. It was such a blessing. We brought them our prayer card and a track while inviting them to our next church service. Pray that God blesses this invite and gospel message!

Our day was wonderful and everyone felt like God had met with us. Our trip home was great and we just felt like singing all the way home.  I know more good things are on their way keep us in your prayers.

Thank you for your prayers this week!

Liberty Hill

This week we dropped in at Lampasas Baptist Church and enjoyed a great Sunday School lesson and Sunday sermon by Pastor David Richardson. Seeing them again was great and visiting with the members there was a treat.

We were able to head back home for lunch and a Sunday nap then on over to Liberty Hill Texas at Union Hall Baptist Church. We were scheduled there to Sing and Bro. Harrod to preach. The singing went great! Zach our oldest son and child, broke out of his comfort zone and sang his first solo. He asked to do this a while back and wow what a great job the Lord did through him.

Everyone there seemed to be very friendly and helpful. One lady I met there last time we had dropped in, told me that she had our card from last time we came and was praying for us. I told her that we could feel her prayers when we were broke down on the side of the road a little while back. She said she would continue to pray. This means so much to us! You will never know how the Devil attacks us on a daily basis and desires to "sift us like wheat!" from Like 22:31

While at Union Hall we were able to reconnect with a sweet family the Larkins that we used to go to church with years ago. Its always to good to see old friends and see how God has kept them in the faith.

Our dear friends, The Thompson's, came over to join us last night and we were so happy to see them. God is good to give us such great friends in the faith. It was a great encouragement to see them there! Damaris Thompson too a video of us singing and it is on our facebook page. We are not perfect singers but we are doing what God called us to do and want to be a blessing to others. If you are not following our face book page yet just click on the link above.

On the way home we stopped in at a Dominos that was next to the gas station and enjoyed a some fresh pizza. The kids got up close seating and were able to watch the employees make the pizzas. There were exactly 7 chairs there waiting for them and we were the only ones in the place. God is good to think of us like that.

After we ate the manager asked if we would like an extra pizza on them to take home with us. So of course we couldn't turn that down and now we have lunch for today! I just felt like God was showing us his tender care for his children and letting my heart know that this faith walk we are on is of him and he will always take care of us! Praise the Lord for his goodness to his people!

We had to sing them a short song for being such great hosts!

Thank you for your prayers this week!

Filling Up The Tank!

The kids had a fun filled week at Vacation Bible School here at Northside Baptist in Burnet. The preacher and his church are always so kind to invite our kids every year. I got some Ebay listings done and my hard working husband worked two days on our van and finally got it back together and working again.  After worrying about our van all week and finally getting it to work again our family needed to refuel in the house of God!

We traveled to Temple and made it the whole way without any overheating which was a super big blessing! Our Pastor, Bro. Reed preached hard and strong on having a strong testimony; being the light of the world. I really appreciated this message and was looking forward to hearing Bro. Rodriguez, missionary to Durago, Mexico.

We decided to pick up some food at McDonalds and then go out and go soul winning in Temple before the night service. We were getting ready to go load up the kids in the van when a kind Christian brother, Bro. Travis (who was helping Zeke with his guitar playing,) offered to pay for our meal. This was a true answer to prayer.

We ate with Bro. Travis and another great Christian brother Bro. Jesse and enjoyed their Christian fellowship. Then we cleaned up our places and headed down the road to find the perfect place to hand out some tracts and share our faith. The weather in Texas is pretty hot and humid right now so we were boiling because we still need to do a little work on our air conditioning system. (little by little)

So we opted to go into a strip center and hand out tracts in the a.c. All went well and we were able to distribute several tracts and meet several people. This past week some of the kids asked to go pass out some tracts around the neighborhood and that too was very hot. But I was so happy that they wanted to give out some tracts and go soul winning! I always want my children to be soul conscious.

That night Bro. Rodriguez and his wife Mildred came and he blessed us with a super sermon on having a good sense of the fear of God in you! How that many people and children are growing up without any fear of God in their lives. He explained how that having no fear of God and acting recklessly in sin can cause you to loose your testimony and even loose your life!

Both messages were spot on and exactly what we needed to fortify our Christian lives and move forward for Christ!

After the services were over we went and got some food from a pizza place and parked in a parking lot to eat it. We were finishing up when my husband met a couple who asked for help. They had been living on the streets and wanted some money to stay in a motel. My husband wisely does not give out money to strangers and offered to help with their bill if they could make it to the motel just down the road.

They said that they could and we gave them lots of time to get there driving back and forth to see if they were walking that way, but they never showed up. We used this as a teachable moment and explained to the children that sometimes the homeless have addictions they are feeding and such like and they are really not wanting what they say that they want. That is why we never offer cash.

We really wanted to help a needy people and by having the opportunity to share the gospel with them. We know this is the best help but we didn't have a chance to do this in the parking lot because the security man ran them off. It was a bit sad but we knew that God had a reason for delaying our return home. Maybe time will tell just what all the reason was. We did have a chance to give the security man an invitation to our church which we hope will bring another visitor.

We finally made it home last night at about midnight. We were very sore and tired from our ride but so glad that our van did what it was supposed to and my dear husband was able to finally find its problem and get it fixed. Still praising the Lord for his goodness: we fell in our beds and rested our weary heads.
