Lots of Sourcing

What is sourcing?

Searching for the best deals so that you can add items to your Ebay store and hopefully make money.

There are many places that you can source to add inventory to your Ebay store:

1. Thrift stores usually stores that take in other people's cast offs. These are great but you really need to know your brands. Do your homework!

2. Resale stores (usually higher end brands and higher prices) Shop here when there are sales. One of my favorites has weekly side walk sales.

3. Garage sales. In the summer these are great! If you can hit a whole lot of these they can keep you going into the next seasons.

4. Close out stores. (like Ross, Marshals and T.J. Max for example) Take your phone and scan the price tags for shoes and clothes and such that would be worth you time and money. I wouldn't buy anything that you wouldn't at least double your money back.

5. Any retail store when they have clearance or sales. Although you must check on Ebay first to see if the item is worth reselling, many times they are not. The sale needs to be a high percentage off the original price!

6. Library book sales! I love finding some great books to resale. The kids like to read some of them before they are sold. Win Win situation!

7. Give aways. Check craig's list and your friendly neighborhood for people who are setting out unwanted items at the curb. Make sure they are free for the taking and then load up. We have found some great stuff although sometimes they need to be cleaned of course. Some we keep some we sell.

We have been getting in on a lot of sourcing now that the Christmas rush is over so that we can stock up the store. This is the best season for selling on Ebay and I want to fill the store with great items so that our income can go up and we can be closer to having Daddy home to work with us! We have found some great items. Clothes and stuffed animals and books. God is good! I only list the best items that I find for my customers and make sure they are in tip top condition so that the amount of returns are limited.  Of course there will always be the few that return because of fit or accidental ordering etc. but for the most part there are not many returns. Also I try to pack super well so that there is no chance of breakage. No one wants to find their item in a bunch of pieces.

The Zildren:
Lately I have been trying to take the kids with me on the sourcing trips because of the Holidays. They did a really good job looking for great finds. I will reward them if they find something good that will be a good seller. So they are eager to find a good seller. Almost too eager at times. lol 😉 We have a good time while we are out. And I can get them to do their chores pretty good before we leave.

We love getting out of the house and seeing new items and new faces. Its loads of fun but also pretty tiring at the end of the day because there is always photo shoot and listing to do plus cooking dinner and doing laundry and anything else that needs to be done. Yet it feels good to do what you love!

My First Reselling Video!

Hi everyone!

I decided to make my very first reselling video today to see if I could help inspire someone to get out and make some money and have a great time doing it! I don't have the best camera or editing software but I do have information and would like to share with the community out there and maybe even get some help put there from kind folks who also like to see others succeed. Right now my husband hasn't been ab;e to come home yet but he is looking forward to that day when he can run the business with me full time. If you are interested and following our vlogs then come along and subscribe to our channel.

Honey Ham Cinnamon Rolls...What?

Honey Ham Cinnamon Rolls...What?

We didn't use the spice and glaze from a honey ham that we received from a family friend so I decided to make something yummy and delicious with it!
cutting the loaf

before they baked

Turn to 400 degrees

Ingredients:
6 cups of flour
3 tsp. of yeast
1 tsp. baking powder
Large swirl of honey
4 twists of sea salt or about a 1/4 tsp.
3 table spoons flax chia powder
1/4 cup of vegetable oil
Warm 2 cups of milk
Spice package from honey ham (filling)
Glaze package from honey ham
1 and a 1/2 sticks of sliced butter (filling)

1. Mix all dry ingredients together in a large mixing bowl then add the wet ingredients and knead until combined into a loaf. Leave that in the large bowl and cover with a towel on the stove so that it will stay warm while it rises.
2. Allow the dough to rise for about 30 minutes.
3. Flour a clean surface and press out the dough with your fingers until you have a nice large area to add your stuffing.
4. Add your butter slices all over the dough then pour on the spice bag shaking it evenly all over the top of the dough.
5. Roll from one end to the other into a log then begin to lengthen into about a 3" diameter loaf.
Then take a non serrated knife and cut into about and inch slices and place on a cookie sheet.
We used two cookie sheets.
6. Cook for about 12 minutes on 400 degrees.
7. Cut off a corner of the glaze packet and swirl on the topping on your rolls when they come out of the oven.

Enjoy warm or allow to cool.

Update On Hannah The Dog!

Hello animal lovers everywhere!

I just wanted to write and let you know that I have found small swarms of fleas on my dog each day after my initial full body rub down of pure coconut oil; so I figure the fleas are hatching and a few got away and hid from me some how so I have been diligent about reapplying the coconut oil everyday a couple of times once in the morning and once at night. She just loves her rub down and the oil kills them. She is so much more content yet she still has a lot of bites to recover from.

Her skin is soft and her hair is soft and extra shiny from these treatments. I still haven't heard from anyone yet let me know if you are trying this with us. Thanks!

Oh yes, the oily look to her coat goes away in just a short time and it just looks healthy and shinny.
I still believe this is the best method I have found to kill the fleas.

Natural Help For A Pet With Fleas

The Lord has been so good to us but not to us only even to our sweet dog Hannah! Our poor dog has been suffering with a flea infestation that we just could not get rid of no matter what we did. So I took to the internet and used my research skills to find a low cost efficient cure from nature or house hold ingredients.

I found one that said apple cider vinegar I had done that already so I knew that was not going to kill them maybe repel them and soften her hair as a conditioner.

I also found lemon juice but it didn't strike me as an ingredient that would do the trick because of its similarity to apple cider vinegar; believe me though I would have been happy to try it but I had ran out and bills were due.

Then I searched some more and found that many people had had success with coconut oil rubbed into their dogs fur or given to them by mouth.  I decided that because of all of the health benefits that I had heard of from coconut oil that I could sacrifice my small container of yummy pure coconut oil to help and heal my poor dog. It may not work, I told myself, but at least she would feel better on her sore body.

So I started at the top of her head and went to the bottom of her tail then I started on her chin and went to the hind area. After that I started seeing some paralyzed fleas I decided to start on her stomach sides and then I hit the legs because I saw them hiding there. When I started putting it on my dogs legs she was so happy about that; she was licking it off just about as fast as I could get it on. I just had to laugh because now she had some on her inside too. Yeah!

The next day I checked her for fleas and there are zilch - non- nada! I couldn't believe it I tried looking in various places where they like to hide and there was not one measly flea. Hurrah for coconut oil as a flea killer! I will now recommend it one hundred percent!

How to apply the Coconut oil:

1. Get a spoon and fill it with coconut oil I used a large one so I could just take a bit out at a time just keep it hidden from your dog and if you have a larger dog like we do you may need a partner to help with turning your pet or getting them to remain lying down.

2. From the Head to the tail. Take teaspoon amount and rub it between your hands when it melts then massage it into your dogs fur until it gets down through the hair to the skin.

3. Next repeat step one and two until your dog is covered from the neck to the hind parts. The sides of the dog, the legs and paws and the ears.

Let me know if you try this and when what happens with your animals flea problem.

This is the oil we used.

This is the dog trying to eat the oil and licking the spoon.

Here she is posing real nice for her picture.
One happy, content dog!

Amputee Shoes

Hi everyone! I know I have been away from the blogging scene for a while but I have been super busy with the Ebay business during this 4th quarter time period.

I wanted to let you know about a little project we have started of selling Amputee shoes in our store for Men Women and Children . If you have a friend that is looking for just such a shoe then please let them know about what we are doing.

We are excited about what the Lord is doing with our home business and look forward to when my husband indeed is home with us making our business run as smooth as possible. He has all kinds of wonderful ideas that are in the works and that makes me happy!

I hope all of my friends and family are fairing well this holiday season. We have had some rough times lately but God has met our every need and continues to do so every day! Praise the Lord!
Here are just a couple of our shoes.

My Favorite Drink

My favorite drink is easy to make. In fact it is healthy and tastes good at the same time!

Turmeric Tea or Golden Milk:

1/4 teaspoon of turmeric
1 c. of milk
1 teaspoon of honey
1/4 teaspoon of cayenne

Stir the ingredients and then pop it in the microwave for about 45 seconds Stir again and then test to see if it is warm enough and sweet enough.

Uses:
Turmeric is good for many things but I use it primarily for my inflammation
cayenne is great for circulation and many other things but in this drink I use if for making the turmeric work faster and better and for waking me up in the mornings, giving me a little pep to my step. I can't drink coffee because I am allergic to the caffeine so this helps a bunch.

Here is another way to make it that I found on you tube. Enjoy!

The Buy It Now Function On Ebay

The Buy It Now function on Ebay is for people who would like to buy an item and pay for it right away. This may seem ridiculous to some folks for me to write about this but there are people who are confused about this because they know that Ebay is an auction site and don't quite understand how it all works.

So for those out there who do not know, when the price says buy it now under it this means that you do not have to wait until the 30 days are up to buy your item. In fact you can click on buy it now and you can pay and have your item in about a week unless you are out of the country.

I hope this clears things up for some people. Because if you don't pay soon you may not have those great Christmas presents to your house when you were wanting them.

Combining Subjects

In some subjects I strive to combine more than one subject to streamline our day and our time.
One of these is in History. For History I make the kids study an event in History by reading a book in our History section of readers and then the next day they write a report. By writing a report they are practicing their literary skills, English grammar skills and writing skills while solidifying their History knowledge as well. Each child has a different level of writing skill and reading skill so they end up helping each other as well.

For fun I like to look up one of their events on you tube and help bring to life the time period with an educational film on the subject. There are all kinds of other things that you can do like art or arts and crafts to go along with your subject as well.

Here is a great web site that I found in conjunction to writing reports. I hope it helps someone!

Its All In The Family

The other day Nora and I went to a estate sale down the street and she picked up some old Disney post cards and showed them to me. I was thinking those might sell on Ebay. So I asked how much they wanted for them and it wasn't much so I snagged them. She did good that day and we will see how they go.

Don't be afraid to bring your other family members into the biz. The many eyes are better than the one and sometimes can save you time and make you more money. Mind you I find it better to take one child than the whole bunch but sometimes I have no choice because we are all going to somewhere when I find a sale to stop at.

Then my other child Zeke made a purchase of his own that we tried out in front of the house and flipped that for a good price. He likes making a profit as well. All of my kids are fellow sales persons in fact. They are all looking for ways to make money some with plants some with Lemonade and some with rocks even.

Its a fun way to by the little extras that kids are always wanting that just isn't in the budget. Its also educational because just about all of the seven have good money counting skills. Just the other day the thrift store was asking one of my youngest to recount out the money to her. She was enjoying his skills.

These are a few of the fun things we have done to provide a few little fun extras. Thanks Zildren!

Do you see our new backdrop? Its better because there are less noticeable shadows.

Ebay for Home Improvement!

I've started a new campaign at our house to use some of our Ebay profits to improve our home. First is going to be our second bathroom or the kids bathroom as we call it. It needs a total make over. So we have have just started on this and the first thing that we did was buy a curtain rod and curtain for under the sink. I have also made plans to start on our walls soon because they have been bear for way too long. We started texturing them but my husband never had the free time to fix them and I am not good at that so we are going to try something different. As we get things going I will try to take you through the process and show you what we are doing with pictures. Then after that there will be floors to redo. Lots of fun ahead for all of us!

Ebay Tips:

1. Don't over share your Ebay items. I used to share them as much as I could on facebook and twitter and pinterest but a fellow Ebayer let me know that organic traffic or traffic that you don't get from sharing is better than that you get from sharing for where you are on search results. I haven't stopped all together because I have the foo smart app from Ebay that is set up to share for me whenever I have a new item. I might cut that off soon and see if it changes anything as well.

2. Spend some of your down time going through sold items on Ebay in the niche that you are in or desire to be in and learn the brands to look for.

3. Watch you tube videos that tell what they have sold lately to learn some more things that you could be looking for.

A Day In The Life Of Our Homeschool

Homeschooling this year is a lot easier for us now that Ebay selling has afforded us a new printer and copier in one by Brother. We chose the monochrome unit because it saves us a lot of money on toner. We can reduce our costs even more by buying through Ebay and choosing an off brand and a cartridge with high yield.

Our School Day!

Monday- Subjects are Bible, Math, Reading and Music and Break Time Coloring Pages

First, I find the children's worksheet pages for the day. The way I do this is to go to my feedingnineonadime.com and look for the tab at the top that says free homeschooling.

Then after the children wake up and get their cereal ate I pray and have my oldest read a chapter of the bible to us. If anyone is late to the table they have to do some extra writing of a passage.

1. After that, I have all of their Math and music and coloring pages ready for them in a box with their answer sheets in a folder so that they can grade their papers when they are finished. They leave their pencil in the cup and use a red grading pencil for their work and then they can take their pencil when they are finished grading their work. (for those who want them we have math manipulatives/counters made from items around the house that we keep in a metal tin)

2. Then it is Break Time and the kids can do their adult coloring pages or whatever I have for them.

3. For Reading we have assigned reading for the 3 oldest ones and either 5 small readers for the younger ones or one larger full sized book. This lasts for as long as it takes to finish what they have out.

4. Music is an easy piano song from the folder that the student will take and start marking out the notes on the page and start learning that on the piano.

That is just Monday each day we build upon that day and add another subject. Some days we have video learning from you tube and some days we have interactive to drive home a concept in Math or reading. Also there are movies that talk about certain subjects in history and there are field trips that work well with what subjects we are covering it all adds up to a more rounded educational experience.  We try our best to keep up with everything that we have worked on in a binder or folder but we are still learning in that area. So we are searching for the best system for our budget.

Today instead of coloring break we had an action for 15 minutes or so. During auction we auction off whatever has been left in the floor for the kids to try to win back from their brothers and sisters by doing a simple chore. We are trying this to try to eliminate the bad habit of leaving things in the floor.

Large Family Organizing In a Not So Large House

Lately I have been on an organizing push. I have been organizing just about everything. Right now as I write the girls are organizing our book shelves for school use by subject. This will help me when assigning reading books. I hope this post will offer you ideas in making a small space work for a large family or just any family that has limited space.

This post was inspired by Pinterest perusing! Lol Feel free to follow us there and find some more neat ideas.

What all we have done:

1. The White Pantry Refrigerator

We got an extra refrigerator that didn't last very long. Instead of using it for a refrigerator I now have it organized for a storage frig or an extra pantry option for our large family.

Now it stores our cereals, bread, tortillas, boxed mixes and pastas, dog food in one drawer and chicken/bird food in the the other drawer. Which is easy to scoop out and keeps out bugs and such.
I also labeled each area with some outdated business cards that I had and now everything can stay in its place better when the kids are helping me put things away.

I just realized that Pinterest had this idea as well and my idea wasn't a one of a kind :( Oh well.

2. The girls purses, scarves and belts, etc. Found these ideas on Pinterest.

My girls need space so this really helped a lot.

3. My bedroom closet.

*There I made a small hanger with shower hooks on it for my undershirts. (Found that idea on Pinterest.)
* I made an extra skirt hanger by wiring up some plastic skirt hangers (it didn't look pretty so I didn't show you but it did exactly what I needed it to do) so that I could have a place for all of my skirts and hung them in a better location.
*I arranged my husbands work clothes in some cloth organizing shelves that hang and now most everything is off my floor in there.
*With the help of my tall son we relocated some winter jackets to the top of the closet until my husband needs them and also some winter clothing that I wanted to wait on.
*I used an old D.V.D. wire shelving unit screwed into the wall horizontally to store my scarves in and on top I stacked my DVD's I don't have many anyway. All of that is behind my Jackets in the closet like a secret compartment. I thought it was kind of a fun element.

4. Ebay central - that's what I affectionately call it :)

*I went through and put a lot of items in clear bags and I added new boxes and took away a lot of items that were not selling.

*We got rid of our old couches that were in bad condition and opted for more ebay space because right now I really don't have the funds for an ebay building or storage. We are working up to that some day. Lord willing!

*we added a bin for the things we are listing right next to our listing table and photo area.

*we also added some Bible posters (from some old calenders that a friends gave us) to my space so that I could remind myself and the zildren that Christ was supposed to be first and foremost in my life!

Soon, I want to do some more but I think I am coming down with a little something that I have to nip in the bud. So tata for now and I hope this gives you some ideas on ways that you can organize your house or work or both.

It's Homeschool Time!

This is a post about what I have in my store available for homeschoolers. If you are not a homeschooler or already have your supplies then please share this post so that it can be a blessing to someone else and to our family.

We are not starting homeschool yet maybe in a week or so. I have to order some materials yet. Right now I am saving up for that purchase. A sweet relative of ours is going to get our school supplies office items etc.  We are very thankful for her doing that. It is something that she gets a blessing from each year.

God Is Good!

Sometimes it seems like everything that could go wrong is going wrong. Do you ever get that feeling? Like you just need something to give or you are just going to come apart at the seems or break down and cry or give up.

broken washers
broken dryers
feeling bad
messy house
etc.
etc.
etc.

When I know that I can't fix my problems then I have a solution. My God is bigger than any problem and can deal with all of those issues and problems that just won't be or can't be solved by this mere human.

My life is just a drop in the bucket when compared to the big picture so I know for it to be truly worth something I have to let God make the best of it! I can't just do the best I can and leave it alone. I have to do the best I can and take it all to my loving father who can do exceedingly above what we think or ask and He can pour His Holy Spirit into it and heal and forgive and work in an amazing way to make himself known and to bless the little bit that I have.

Wow God is Good! What do you think is God Good to you even in the bad times or tough times? Please share your testimony or grace and praise the Lord in the blog comments so that we can all rejoice with you!

By the way I still have a lot of my list but I can see God's hand anyway!

We just shared this post at:
