How To Clean A Shower Head

If you have hard water deposits and your shower head no longer sprays at full force, don't throw it out just clean it up like new.

Supplies:
clear plastic bag
vinegar
rubber band, twist tie or strong tape

Directions:

1. Fill plastic bag 1/3 of the way full with vinegar. I buy the strongest that they have.

2. Take the bag to your shower and put your shower head into the bag.

3. While holding your bag of vinegar onto the shower head take a rubber band and bring it up over the bottom of the bag and secure.

If you have a very large shower  head then you will want to use a twist tie or a strong tape.

4. Come back in about 2 hours and your shower head will be beautiful again!

4. After both sides are fried remove to a baking sheet and sprinkle the other 1/2 c. of the cheese on the top of the patties to melt. Turn the oven on warm and leave in the oven until the cheese melts.

5. Dress your burger with anything you like on other types of burgers.

Note: do not add any salty seasonings because spam is already salty.

Dressing Suggestions:

avocado
cilantro
pineapple slices

These are really great family favorites. Let me know how yours turns out!

Eggs Con Nopales

Someone gifted us some great nopales packages and we have really enjoyed them. Add some eggs and you have a great breakfast or brunch. Did you know that Nopal or Prickly Pear Cactus is good for normalizing blood sugar. When you cook it it is kind of like cooking a okra a little slimy but doesn't taste like okra. Try it you may like it!

Faux Skirt Steak

Things have been tight with several trips to the E.R. and prescriptions to fill. This is a recipe for when you don't have much but you are making what you do have appealing to the masses or to the zildren in our case. I admit I am not a spam lover but I am adventurous so I have taste tested this and it really does taste great! I was pleasantly surprised. Isn't it great when the Lord cooks with you and shows you just what to combine for a pleasant meal.

Faux Fajitas:

3 cans of Spam diced
1/3 cup of diced white onion
4 spoons of minced garlic
1 1/2 teaspoons of fajita seasoning
a pinch of fresh cilantro
5 hefty shakes of Louisiana hot sauce
1/4 cup of picante sauce
a spoon of plain yogurt (per tortilla)
tortillas

Directions:

1. Coat large skillet with vegetable oil.

2.  Add diced onions, spam, garlic, seasoning, cilantro and picante sauce to pan and cook on high stirring constantly till onions are translucent.

3. Add your hot sauce and and stir in pan to coat. Cook another minute to blend the flavors.

4. Build your fajitas with the mixture and add a dollop of plain yogurt on top. Delish!

There Is A Special Room!

This morning during our breakfast devotions. I talked to the kids about a special room. So I thought I would tell you about our conversation, because they all wanted to go in there and stay a while after I told them about it!

       “Corridor Of White Empty Interior”

                   by Sira Anamwong

To them It was an imaginary room that they thought didn't exist......

"What if there was this special room that you could go into and God would talk directly to you in there. You could go in there and God would give you something special, just for you that would help you through the day?"

"Would you be noisy and laugh and cut up and even talk when God was talking?"

"Would you ignore God and play with your toys."

"Would you God in, here God talking and walk out when he was mid sentence?"

"Would you be quiet and listen really close to what God was saying so that you didn't miss a word?"

"There is a place like this! Yes, as soon as you open your Bible and pray God's Holy Spirit comes to sit with you and teach you and give you something special just for you."

Right after we had this conversation we prayed for a family that we have had on our hearts. I told the children that we should continue to pray for this family every time that God brought them to our minds. We made an agreement to do this and then we opened our Bible to read what God had for us. I chose to read from Job because it was in my daily bible reading scriptures and we have been going through a lot of trials lately. I told the kids to be waiting for the nugget that God was going to give us from the bible today and guess what.... it happened!!! but even more miraculously than I had expected. We read these words...

Job 42
10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends:

I didn't know what was going to be in that particular chapter of Job. No way did I plan any of this I just decided to have a devotion for the kids this morning because we needed it! I love it when God speaks and there is no doubt He was listening to you and what you were going through and that he cares! So many times we read our Bibles and don't expect God to speak directly to us, but he can and he will if we let him. Your heart needs to be in a place where he can mold it.

We can't be dictating to God how your day will be and asking God to somehow bless it after the fact. We all do this in little or big ways. Instead we need to open up God's word in a holy and reverent way allowing God to speak and for us to listen. Sometimes we have a lot to tell God and to ask for but we also need to just be still and listen, waiting for Him to give us something to grow on.

I hope this is a blessing to someone today to just take some time out and listen!

Easy Cinnamon Rolls

I was wanting to make something rather exciting for my son, Zeke's thirteenth birthday breakfast to show him how much I love him. I know that everyone likes sweet treats so I am making some cinnamon roles this morning. Did you know that cinnamon helps to balance your blood sugars. I am adding lots of cinnamon to this recipe to help do just that!

Ingredients:

First I start out with my croissants recipe and then I half it and add a cup of sugar and about 4 teaspoons of cinnamon .

Directions:

Then I follow the directions on the croissants except I don't cut into croissants.

1. Make sections into a long snake shape like you are playing with playdough or get the kids to help!

2. Roll flat with a rolling pin.

3. Take a pizza cutter and cut into long inch strips and roll into cinnamon rolls.

4. Add to your cookie sheet or casserole pan and drizzle with melted butter or spray with oil.

5. allow to rise a second time and make your icing!

Icing Recipe:

2 cups confectioners sugar (how to make confectioners sugar video)

 1 stick of softened butter

 1 teaspoon vanilla

 2 teaspoons of cinnamon

 1 tablespoon of milk

Whisk or beat together to form a glaze adding the milk a little at a time.

5. Bake at 400 for 12 to 14 minutes.

6. When you are finished baking then you will want to add the icing. Enjoy!
