It seems like every time I buy school glue it is gone in a matter of weeks. Then I wait forever before I buy more. This time when one of the children asked me for some glue I decided to make us some instead of going out and buying some. I think I will be doing this from now on. If really sames money and the kids like using the glue just as well. Maybe even more!
School Glue Recipe:
1 c. flour
1 1/2 cup water
1/3 cup of sugar
1 tsp. vinegar
Mix the concoction together in a small sauce pan or double your recipe and use a little bit larger one. Warm the mixture on a low temperature until it begins to thicken and then pour it into your containers. I ended up making a lot of glue. I wanted to have some in several different containers. I taught the little kids how to use their glue as paste by using a pop cycle stick to apply the glue. Store your glue in the refrigerator. It will last a very long time, over 6 months.
Ideas for variations:
- colored glue with food coloring or natural colors
- add glitter
- old vitamin bottles
- old glue bottles
- old baby food jars
- mason jars
