Plus for family devotion time each night we will be using the Jesse Tree book and ornaments. Its a great book and we will be reading our KJB with each days page. I can't wait to read it and see how the children will respond to Christmas this year. Our Sweet Little Dog R.I.P.

Yesterday, my husband and I were pretty sick most of the day. The stomach bug really got us down as well as other members of the family. We earnestly prayed that God would heal our family and that we could be up and going again. Things were improving a bit by night fall. The day before I had our dog Lyle in to help him heal; something had happened to his leg. I checked him out and there didn't seem to be a major problem but he seemed to be in a lot of pain. So I gave him a bath and got him cleaned up and then I held him for a while just to comfort him and tell him that we loved him.

Then later after he had dried off I decided to take him back outside so that he could get some fresh air. I was home with two sick children so we prayed over him and left him with his blankie in his dog house to rest and recover. I thought maybe the vitamin D outside would help him to get better too. He had been injured another time and made it through with no problems and the other time he had a large tumor looking thing yet with garlic he healed up in no time. He was just very fragile and easy to injure.

Last night I sent my sons to go check on the dog because I thought I heard something.  They came back and said that something was wrong with Lyle and that he might be dying or dead. I went out o check on him knowing that he was gone in my heart before I got there. I hated to see him and feel his stiff body. I had to tell the kids he was gone.

Then it came to me that I was the only one that was feeling good enough out of my husband and I to deal with disposing of the body. I didn't want the bugs to get to him and then kids go out and see him like that. So I asked my husband what I should do about the dog. He said that should put him in a couple of bags and then we should dig a whole or maybe something else. I immediately thought about the whole that the kids had been digging in the back yard and thought maybe he would fit into that whole.

The plan was in place so I decided to go ahead and act on it before I started being sick again. I got the bags and asked Zach my oldest to come along and hold the flash light. It was terrible though. I didn't know what this experience would do to me. I wasn't prepared for lifting his stiff lifeless body. It was so sad and depressing. I put the body into the bad and tied the bag. Then I just sat there and wept sadly petting his lifeless body. Then I had to repeat the process a second time to make sure no animals would dig him out again.

Then I thought, maybe Hannah, our Labrador, would need to sniff the body to know that Lyle her buddy had died since they slept in the same room every night. So I took him over to her and allowed the sniff. I don't know if she really understood what this meant or not but I didn't want her to be searching for Lyle in vain.

Lyle's body didn't fit into the hole and when my husband returns from work he needs to finish out the hole for us. So I went inside and got a box for now and when I got inside I just had to cry on my husbands shoulder because the tears had already been streaming down my face. It brought back old memories of my little poodle dog that I had in my teens. I remember finding that dog outside in the cold and knowing that she had died out there by accident. She had went out in the cold but never scratched to come back in. She was also dying and had a lot of health problems.At the end of the day, I was so relieved just to get that over with and crawl into my bed and block it out as much as I could so that I could get my rest.

I know God understands my grief and that he holds me up in times like these. I also know that death is a necessary part of life. One time our fish died and God used that death to bring the meaning of salvation clearly to the mind of one of my children. I'm praying that another one of my children will be helped to know the salvation of their soul from Hell through this death and that it will have meaning to their life. Please God let Lyle's little life be used for your honor and glory! In Jesus Name Amen.

Being Content/Guest Blog Op

                                                            Contentment Bible Verses

Many people are seeking to find a better life than the one that they have. I am one of them. I don't believe that wanting something to be better is necessarily a bad thing. I think quite the opposite. God's people should better themselves when there is a need. When there isn't anything to be done and you have done all that is morally possible then you should relax and allow God to work in your life. Take a breather when you feel like there are people in your life that are actually suffering from your efforts to make things better.

There needs to be a balance to our lives. I need to balance my efforts here on this blog so I am inviting my friends in the blogging community to help me out a bit and consider doing a Guest Blog Post. There are so many great blogs out there that are still relatively small and need some exposure and need some exposure. If you are family oriented, washed in the blood of Jesus, and love to blog, drop me a note in my email box and let me know of your interest in guest blogging for us here at Feeding Nine On a Dime.

Guest posting is a great way to increase your audience and really get out there. I blog about all things large family, crafts, Godliness, food, health and children of course. If you think you will fit in somewhere let me know. the details about being my guest are in the advertising tab above.

3 Crafts To Make With Old Puzzle Pieces

The other day  we went to the thrift store to hang out for a little while and I came away with a puzzle for all of the children. I thought just maybe we could get one finished. We did! We got one finished and then, the twins started to think that they should be able to play with those cute little funny pieces and have a good time. Besides, it was their puzzle anyway. Then they got a little carried away and we lost some pieces in the whole mix. the kids were a bit upset that their puzzles were a loss but I was happy that at least one puzzle got put together.

  1. I figured all along that we could come up with some very cool craft ideas. I had seen one idea before with puzzle pieces on a frame. I took it a little farther and made the frame itself out of puzzle pieces. Then I used card board from a noodle box and made the back of the frame leaving an opening at the top to insert the picture. We are saving the frame to give away for Christmas.

     2.  Then we took some bow clips and made some puzzle clips
           out of them by just adding the puzzle
              pieces with hot glue until it looked right to me.

      3.  I had to make a seven for heaven sign. You could also make
           initials for your family members or friends.
       4. Last, I made the treasure box for one of my boys who likes
           to keep small things, like missing teeth. I
           thought I would save this little box for a stocking gift. Did
           you see how I made a puzzle piece fit into
           another puzzle piece to snap it closed. I really liked this

Below are a few we still need to try.

Meal Planning On a Budget

An Honest Review

{me counseling myself}
Meal Planning has always been daunting for me. I have done it and failed many times. When I saw this book,
How to Meal Plan, I thought what could she teach me. I didn't know if I could learn it but I sure wanted to try. How hard could it be? Yet I am on a tight budget and I don't know a lot of recipes for our budget. We just seam to eat the same things over and over again every night. Lately I have been so tired and I don't even want to cook. Many time I'm worn out and my husband cooks, which I like but I need to relieve him when I can. If I had a plan before time maybe it wouldn't seem so hard to me when it come down to time to have something on the table.

Maybe you have been there too. I thought you might have.

I read the book and have started making my own plan. I am very excited about how this will create more harmony in my home and help us to always have a meal ready and not have to wait a while. I hate it when I am trying to think of something last minute. Some how I just got out of that routine or planning and now I am confident that with the help that Crystal has given me I can be more productive and not feel so overwhelmed by everything.

Here is the board I made on Pinterest after reading this book. Lots of yummy recipes to choose from.

Crystal provided a copy of her book to me for review here on the blog but you can get yours too at the discounted price of $4.99 by using the code launch.

How to Use Hubby Notes As Email Notes In 3 Simple Steps

If signed up for my Newsletter Subscription and receive the file to my Hubby notes or if you are planning to do so this is a tutorial for you. I was wanting to use my new Hubby Notes and we don't have printer ink yet so I decided to see if I could paste one into my email. It took a little figuring out but I was finally able to do it.

Here is what my notes looked like this morning.

  • Step One:

Open your pain program and use the rectangle select tool to cut out one of the Hubby notes of your choice and paste it into a new paint file.

  • Step Two:

Then select a text box and apply it into your Hubby note and write you message in any font that you choose.

  • Step Three:

Use your select tool and select all of your note and then press copy and open up your email to your husband and press paste. In a few seconds your note will be added and you can send it to your sweetheart!

I hope this works for you. Let me know if you try it.

Music Therapy for the Soul

Lately, I have been in the thick of it with some young people who are having real problems.  I have started studying what they are listening to and how that I can minister to them with good Christian songs. A song can speak to your spirit, it can address a problem with scripture and help you feel those things that are inside of you in a healthy or unhealthy way if it is not God honouring. One thing that I noticed this morning was that most of the modern day music that young people are drawn to doesn't lift up the Lord. It isn't joyful. There is some that is really pretty or artful or even bouncy for lack of a better word.  The problem I saw and felt in my heart is that the music they are listening to keeps them down and offers no help. It lets them feel their pain and leaves them there in it to wallow. God has the answer as always to every problem; our music listening needs to be rounded. Try to be intentional. Pick out the songs you listen to this morning and today with purpose. Try to draw the focus away from you and on to Jesus.

3 Types of Songs To Add To Your Song Therapy

1. PSALMS: If you are hurting pick out some great songs that speak to your pain and how Christ can heal you but then you need to pick out some songs that lift up Christ alone.

2. HYMNS:  Ones that speak of who Christ is and what he has done for you.

3. SPIRITUAL SONGS:  Finally for the end of your picks choose those that are intentionally victorious, exciting, and put a smile on your face and make you want to get out there and do something for Christ.

 We are called to serve Him not just sit and feel or just sit and be full of our problems and depression. We are to be overcomers and to rise above the cares of this world. We are to show others that they too can find hope and healing in the cross of Jesus Christ! Don't be defeated today! Don't let Satan defeat you with incomplete songs. Look to the scripture!

Ephesians 5:18-20

18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Here is a play list I made today to show you some of these kinds of songs that God wants us to listen to. I hope you enjoy this time with God.
