The Apple Cider Vinegar Challenge!

I challenge you to try one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a quart glass of water in the morning and at night before bed. Write down the changes that you notice in a journal and share it with us here at www.feedingnineonadime.com

Recently I have started trying to encorporate more alkaline foods and drinks into my diet. If you haven't noticed there has been many reports that alkalizing your body improves your chances of resisting disease and improves your over all state of health. Apple cider Vinegar with the mother still in it (this is important) has just this effect on the body.  Even though ACV is acidic in nature the digested form of ACV is alkaline so therefore has great help for your body! If the taste bothers you, you can also add molasses or honey to the mixture to lighten it up a bit. The molasses can be benifical to your dailey routine because it has minerals that you body needs and if you buy local pure honey then you can benefit from the antibiotic properties of the honey as well. But if all you can do for right now is drink the ACV I would suggest that you put it into at least a 10 oz. cup because 8oz makes for a pretty strong sour taste the more water the better if you ask me! Don't forget to shake so that you get some of the health benefits of the mother in each dose.

You can do more up to a tablespoon of vinegar a day in your water but I already use vinegar in my salads and other cooking so I am happy with the results that I am getting from the tsp. or cap in the morning and cap at night. I am using the Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar from our local grocery store and I am pleased to report that after about 2 weeks of following the program more of less, I can tell that it gives me a little more energy and that my allergies are reduced when I use it.  I noticed the allergy thing one day whenever I forgot to drink my morning cup. Then when I did the allergies started to be relieved.

Let me know your experiences and maybe after a month I will do a report back on my experiences and yours. Let me know in the comments. Also don't forget to follow me.

Thanks for all the reminders about how great ACV is for you. I forgot about it. I'll take the challenge for a month! Great idea!

I actually started drinking mine yesterday! I put it in with water, 2tbsp lemon juice and a little stevia. Drinking it in just water is a bit much for me just yet, but maybe eventually I will be able to. I will try to remember to come back in a couple weeks or a month and let you know any changes I notice.

I wanted to come back and let you know another way I am getting some ACV and so is the rest of my family. We are big lemonade drinkers around here, it is dh's favorite drink. It isn't the healthiest drink but it isn't likely to change in the near future because this is how dh likes it. I use 2 cups lemon juice and 2 cups of raw sugar for 1 gallon of lemonade. I discovered I can add 8 Tbsp of raw ACV without altering the taste. It is just another way to get some healthy stuff in my family's diet that they wouldn't get otherwise because they all balk at the taste of ACV.

I has reduced the amount of allergy meds that I need significantly. I maybe need them once a week instead of daily! My friend (an avid runner) just wrote me to say that she no longer need Advil everyday!
