Scalp Conditions

Recently. afriend contacted me about what she should do about her son's scalp condition. I thought for a minute and then remembered that I had once recommended that a family member try using Silver Shield in a spray bottle for his scalp condition. He sprayed it on his head and went to sleep.  That next morning it had greatly improved.
If you are having a problem with your scalp; it is definitely worth a try to spray some on and see what happends. I am not a doctor and this not medical advice.  If you would feel better consulting a doctor be sure to do that. God Bless!
Just thought I would share.

How to get Free Plants for Your Fresh Water Aquarium!

We have been going to the park a lot lately so I decided to make it fun for Mom and the kids as well. We took the cusomary walk down the river and as you go there is a shallow spot where you can walk across the water on rocks and see the little plants growing inthe water and along the water's edge. I have sceen these plants for sale before at the pet stores and online so I decided to try to pull some up and put them in my fish tanks.
On the first attempt they floated back up tp the top because the fish are really loving them. This wasn't good so I decided to make a device that makes them sink and stay in place. I took some sandwhich bags and added some of the stones that I had to them about 5 or so and then I tied a knot just at the bottom of the plant. From there I knew that the plants were going to need water so I poked several wholes in the bottom with a sewing pin and placed them in a corner of the tank. It really has worked and made me happy as well as the fish. If you try it please let me know. God Bless!

How to Make Homemade Underware for the Family

I know this may be a delicate subject for some so don't come in unless you are ready to try the amazing.  I mean not everyone's Mom knows how to make their own underware.  You may even start a trend and have you an all out underware making party in the house! i don't want to name any names or anything but after I told the children about making one of the twins some new underware then just about all of the kids got out their own materials and wanted to try it themselves.

What you will need:
An old stretchy t-shirt
sewing machine or even fabric glue
any pretties or decorations (hearts or flowers or stars and sports equipment or whatever you can make them from the t-shirt if you want some)

old t-shirt- or snatch one from
your kids drawer

Grab a pair of underware boy, girl, man or woman. Place it on top of your t-shirt and pin it to both sides of the t-shirt all the way through. Then cut around the underware the best that you can, it doesn't have to be perfect. Also  you may want to cut out the scoop on the legs so that it is skinier in the frount than in the back but it is not mandatory for little ones. Then unpin and turn it inside out and pin again. Sew together on the sides and the crotch then switch to a zigzag stich and finish up the edges. Turn it back to the right side out and add all of the details or use as is.  For boys you could ford a few stripes or t-shirt and sew or glue on the lines in the frount.  Having this skill is really helpful during potty training season.  Its super fun as well to know you can finish a sewing project this quickly.

tip-the t-shirt that you use needs to be the same amount of stretch as your pattern underwear

Have you ever tried this?

Zach's Birthday and New Costume Review!

We had so much fun on Zach's birthday party! Zach got almost everything that he had wished for and even more than he wished for in some cases. We had a few friends over and they enjoyed nachos with chili and nacho cheese served out of my crock pot and rice warmer.  Plus we had some extras like sliced jalapenos and Kefir water or hot herbal tea. Nana brough over the cake early and we had ice cream cake that had little squares of cheese cake on the top it was called a blizzard cake from Dairy Queen. My dear husband refered to the little squares as crutons and they really looked like them too but thankfully they didn't taste like them.  Then came his presents and this year he was blessed with some great toys and gadgets.

A Police Helicopter from Dad

A new MP3 player from Dad (his other one died, plus he can also read from it)

I found a complete set of Curious George 40th Aniversary book in great condidtion at the thrift store in excellent condition.

Plus a Grafield Book

Zeb found him some movies at the thrift store with his own money!
One was Fly Away Home and the other was about the 3 Stooges.
Then today his costume came in that we wanted to review!!!

He put it on and has been playing in it ever since. He chose a character from Star Wars the Clone Wars named Jango Fett and loves playing in it. I don't really think he knew who the character was until after it arived. So I looked the character up online so that we would know more about him maybe we can find the movie to watch later so that he will know all about it. Then we could go to our local library and check out a book as well. In fact checking out the book would probably be better since he loves books and I need to return some.
As you can see Zach was excited and so was everyone else!

Jango Fett

Zach felt really special!- Star Wars boys costume

Outside on his missions.
article on Star Wars

The costume company has all kinds of costumes not just Star Wars but also t.v. show and movie costumes and even period costumes. If you are thinking like I am this would be a great way to study different people in history.

Family Fun Day!

The last day of our stay-cation we actually went about an hour away to a place called Texas Jumping Bean! At the jumping bean you can jump and slide on those big moon walks and there are these fun squishy red blocks that you can throw or build with that are fun too. Everyone has to wear socks and they don't care if they don;t match.
We had such a great time just enjoying life and not having to think about all of our responsibilites at home and work. Mom and Dad even got to play and have fun too until they just got pooped and had to sit and watch the little ones. when I had slowed down a bit, I met a nice lady and her two friends and I found out that they were all homeschoolers that lived in that area. That lady was such a blessing when she told me that I was blessed to have 7 children. We met another lady who asked us to watch her little boy while she went to the bathroom because she had come alone. I was glad to do this he was only about 1 and a half.
I had to try out my new camera that I got for my birthday so here are the pictures! I didn't get all of the kids pictures because I had to delete a bunch of the pictures. I am so old school that it took me a while to get the hang of things. I think I have it now and I will be able to put lots of pictures on here soon.
Zach was so glad we got to go to the Jumping Bean for his pre-birthday celebration!

We got a family pass that lets us come back for a month and that cost us less than it would cost us for one day!  We took a break and went to Jack in the Box.

The kids were having fun in the van Loty was meowing like a cat!

Here is another picture of the cat:)

Zoi with a block on her head.

It was rainy out side but we were nice and dry on the inside.

These are some of the moon walks.
They even had a cute bathroom.

I had a cute hubby:)

This is the obstacle course. It was tons of fun! Yes, I took my shoes off and dove in.

Loty making a funny face.

Daddy spending quality time with the Zkids.

Nora upside down.

Zoi and Zeke sliding down.

Sorry for all the fuzzy pictures I will do better next time. Lord Willing:)

Liquid Laundry Soap

I have been seeing a lot of liquid laundry soaps that don't take as much ingredients as my dry soap so I thought I would give it a try and see what happens. So far I have liked my soap and am having a great time using it. It is always fun to use something that you have made yourself and on top of that know that you are saving your family tons of money.  (refer to end of post for condensed version)

Liquid Laundry Soap Recipe

1 cup Washing Soda
1 cup bar soap, grated I use Fels Naptha I've also heard of Castle Soap and Ivory being used
1 cup Borax
1 quart boiling water
Large bucket
5 Gallons of Hot Water minus the 1 Quart of Boiling water

The Directions:

In a medium sized pot boil Washing Soda, cup of shredded bar soap, cup of Borax and the quart of water stirring until all of the bar soap is melted. Then you can either add this to your 5 Gallon bucket or Super Large Stew pan like I have.   I used the sprayer from our sink to do this. You could also use a shower hose or add a gallon at a time until full. Stir in really well and let the mixture sit with the lid on for 24 hours (this  heps it to gel) and return to stir it up again really well.  For this you can use a paint stick or any kind of long clean stick. Then all you need is 1/3 cup or up to a half cup for really dirty or large loads. You can use what ever you want to store it in but we like the water jug with the spout the best. I store the rest in my pot with a lid on top. If you try this yourself please let me know. If you try the other soaps that I mentioned let me know about that as well. Its so good to hear from my readers.

My 5 Gallon Pot

I stored some of it in a water container
with spout and added
a hook on the side for my 1/3 cup
 measuring cup to hang
If you do this make sure you
unscrew the lid on top
a little so that the soap can go
 through the spout.

Little by little we are making helpful changes. How about you? Have you made the change to homemade?

UPDATE: The last way we made this soap was to condense it all into one quart jar. This way is a lot easier and takes up a lot less space.

Fibromyalgia is a very common condition. I believe I have a little of it myself. It is a musculoskeletal disorder causing chronic muscle aches. Whenever I feel these flare ups I know that I haven't been eating enough greens. Because it is often hard to include enough greens in our diet, Natures Sunshine makes a supplement for us that will help, called Green Zone which you can get in a capsule or powder form.  Another thing that I have noticed that really helps is to do stretching exercises often. As I have mentioned in Exercising Your Allergies Awayexercising will get your lymph system moving and not stagnant and then the toxins that have build up and are causing you the pain can escape out of the body through elimination.
My niece also suffers from this condition and often goes on long walks and takes her Omegas along with juicing frequently.  She has really suffered in the past and now that she is on a exercise and supplement program she is coping allot a lot better.
Many people with FM have been tested to find that they have become allergic to several things. Allergies are a sign of toxins in the liver. Not only have they tested positive for allergies but some have tested positive for parasites as well.
An all around good product to combat FM is our product called Fibralgia my mother has used this product and is has been a blessing. Another customer of mine has reported that her infammation has been greatly reduced with Nopal juice from the red fruit of the prickly pear cactus. I have even got them when they are ripe and juiced them and made jelly with them. They are very tasty as well.
