Samuel Learns to Yell and Tell

Samuel Learns To Yell and Tell the book

This book teaches children to never keep a secret when somebody needs to be told and it teaches them to yell and tell so nobody will get hurt. I liked this book because, children can be hurt really badly and it teaches them to stay away from people that can be really bad. You can order your copy of this book and help keep your children safe too!

I am trying something new here at Feeding Nine On A Dime. I have purchased a domain name and I am trying to combine all of our family blogs into one central location for now. If it doesn't work then I will do something different. So please be patient with me while I am switching everything over. Thank you and God Bless!

Zeb's Birthday!

Zebedee is now 7 years old as of February 24. I have had the privilege of having him as my special birthday present for all of those seven years and I've got to say that no matter how many wonderful gifts that I recieve from people; having a Zebedee born on my birthday tops them all! Zebedee is one of the most generous children I have ever known. He loves to give whenever he has something that makes him happy to give. It just comes natural to him to share what he has with others and make them smile. I just love watching him do this and pray that he will always enjoy giving! Giving can be such a great reward in life. To see someone enjoy a gift can just give you such a great feeling of joy. Joy is the happiness that God gives because you are doing what he wants of you. It is also, the hope of a great future with Christ.  when you have this hope no matter what kind of bad day that you may be having you still have a joy that is unspeakable.

Here is what he got for his birthday, you can find these at

This video spy watch was from Mom and Dad (its real cool the boys keep finding more and more neat things you can do with it. It even has games, a flash light and a lie detector)

This cool flash light that changes colors from Mom and Dad

An art set from Nana

and a whole tin of gum from Granny
and some money from our dear friend at church

He was so happy and thankful. This was a great day!

Are You Fatigued?

Lately, I have been up with the twins one right after the other because they have a cough and fever. So it is very difficult to get enough sleep. On top of that we are just swamped with things that must be done and no time to do them in. Therefore, we end up doing them late at night to fit everything into our schedules. If this is where you are, then you need to get out of this situation as soon as possible (which I hope to happen soon) and get into a better sleep routine, but meanwhile you can supplement with an adrenal fatigue formula and some great ginseng tea as long as you are not on some type of prescription medication that would interfere.

Lack of sleep and/or stress can deplete the body of its natural defenses.  So you also need to include extra immune boosters like garlic, echinacia, and vitamin C.  I would love to hear what natural supplements you have used for fighting fatigue.

Please leave me a comment.  Thanks!

Lemon Pudding (Alkaline)

Lemon Pudding
click above for the recipe

Today is my birthday and it is going to be a hectic day like all of my other days but I have done some things that I love. I made my son Zebedee his favorite breakfast, crescents. I had mine with butter honey and cinnamon on top. He liked his with only butter.I also worked on my favorite piano sheet music.

I have been trying to make sure that I add something alkaline to our lunch and supper meals. Alkaline foods are known to not raise our blood sugar as high. I have a problem with my blood sugar and I don't want to have to ever take shots. Plus alkaline food have been known to eliminate toxins. I'm still gathering evidence to whether or not it actually changes your bodies PH or not but those things alone make the alkaline diet very powerful in fighting diseases like cancer and diabetes and keeping you healthy in general.  Our friends Josh and Amy are now on the alkaline diet to help Josh with his health. If you are on the diet please comment and let us know what benefits it is having in your life. God Bless!

Little Feet, Big Coughs and Prayer!

My little boy, Loty is sick with a cough and he woke me up this morning early! So I did the first thing that I always do; that is to pray and then I took him some water. Sometimes that's all that is needed but the water wasn't doing it alone this time so God impressed upon me that I should do the next thing that I always do and that is to take a garlic gel cap and open it up by snipping off the end and and rubbing it onto the souls of his feet. I let him drink some more water and fervently prayed some more. The cough just was not going away and seemed to be getting more stubborn so I continued in prayer and God said that I had another thing that could help his breathing so I added some children's vapor rub to his chest plus I tried an old remedy of letting him drink a little pure honey to coat his throat. the cough is a little better now but not gone. So please say a word of prayer for my little Loty this morning and through the day. His little sister, Nora (twins) also needs your prayers although her cough has gone away she still has a runny nose. Mommy has been sick this weekend as well but God has raised me up enough to watch over my children although I am very tired and need the prayers of God's people.  Thanks!

Kefir Cake

I really like to have cake for breakfast every once in a while so I adapted a recipe of Amish Friendship Bread to fit my needs the other day.

Ingredients and Directions:

Mix together
(with electric mixer) Dry Ingredients
3 cups flour
1-1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

Mix (with electric mixer so that you can break up the kefir grains) in Wet Ingredients
1 tsp. of vanilla
1 cup honey
1/2 cup of oil
1 cup of Kefir grains drained
3 eggs
1/2 cup of milk or water
You can also add 2 tsp. of cinnamon if you like.

add your favorite chopped nuts pecans or walnuts would be nice.
add some berries or fruit on top for color and yumminess!

Bake on 350 for 20 to 23 minutes or until golden brown and tests ready.
Eat without icing or add what you like we eat it without icing and sometimes add butter spread onto it much like a muffin. This recipe could also be used for a vanilla Birthday Cake with some added icing.

You can also replace yogurt in cakes with Kefir and it will turn out nicely! Here is a recipe for Vanilla Yogurt Cake by Culinary Concoction By the Sea.

Jesus at the cross

Today I would like to talk about Jesus at the cross. (This story can be found in the KJV at Matthew 27)  Before the cross Jesus met with the disciples in the upper room.  He had some bad news he said whoever I give this bread to will betray
me.  Jesus' disciples said is it me master then Jesus gave the bread to
Judas and Jesus said Judas I want you to do this and do this fast
Then Jesus went to court the Judge said he did nothing wrong
Then the crowd said crucify him. They put a purple robe on him
and they gambled over his clothes then they beat him with a cat of 9 tails.
(which is a whip with 9 strings and glass and bones tied on to the strings to rip the skin)
Then they made him carry a cross but he could not carry it.
They jabbed a crown of thorns into his head and nailed his hands and feet to the cross.
Next to Jesus was a roberer the roberer got saved then they checked to make sure every body died. They pierced a speer in Jesus' is side and water and blood
came out and before he died he said it is finished and he gave up the ghost.
Did you know that Jesus died for your sins and everybody's so you can go to heaven and be
saved. So ok could you do this for Jesus.  Could you bow your head and close your eyes and fold your hands together and say, Dear God, I know I am a sinner please forgive me of my sins and be my Savior!  In Jesus Name Amen. You can stop bowing your head now are you serious about this
please comment and say yes or no.

Exercise Your Allergies Away

To battle allergies your body needs to keep moving to eliminate the allergens. Although it does not need to be stressed while you are exercising.  Before you start your exercise of choice you need to make sure you have topped off your water tank. If you don't have enough fluids in your body then when you exercise you are releasing toxins into your body that don't get washed out. After you exercise you need to tank up again because exercise depletes you of fluids.

Numbers 1 though 5 are some low impact exercises to keep your lymph system moving and eliminating toxins. Just remember don't stress yourself when you are exercising; its good to get your heart rate up but not to cause yourself to become stressed with what you are doing. It should be a way to get rid of stress not add to it. You can always slow down or take a different position that is less of a strain for a while until you can begin again and get your second wind. If you are not used to a exercise program then you need to start out slowly and build up as you are able, adding a little more each time until you get to 15 or 30 minutes of exercise per session.

#1. walking

#2. climbing stairs

#3. jump rope

#4. rebounding

#5. low impact exercising programs

The rebounder system below is a system that looks like it would be great for your allergies if you wanted to purchase something to motivate yourself. God Bless and let me know how it is working for you. Keep me motivated as well I have started myself on a program and some of the zildren are doing it with me. It is very different than we are used to so it is going pretty slow. I can already tell that my body is learning the moves. Next time I will tell you about some probiotics to help with your bodies elimination process.

Crock Pot Roast & Vegetables

Crock Pot Roast Ingredients and directions in one:

One Large Roast
One Large Jar of Pizza Sauce
Chop up some potatoes and put them in (we did 3 or 4 large ones)
You can also add some chopped carrots
If you want some onions & or garlic although it would be for added flavor since the the sauce usually includes these. You may even add it for the texture.
Celery might be good as well. We used that in the sauce we made the other day and it was great!

Cook all night or all day which ever you wish. Then we just place ours in the middle of the table and serve with homemade biscuits. The sauce makes a great gravy.

If you have left overs the next day you can make Next Day Pasta.

Next Day Pasta

Next Day Pasta Ingredients and Instructions:

Boil two medium bags of egg noodles or one large one
Drain and add your left over Crock Pot Roast and Vegetables.
Serve with a Spinach Salad and your families favorite dressings.

It will look a lot like this one from Eatingwell.  You could make another variation like this one and use spaghetti and these other vegetables and then add your crock pot roast for a little more change.

Home Schoolers Book Club at the Library

Every first Thursday of the month at 2 p.m. we load up our Zkids and head to the local library for some fun.
Each month there is a different theme and this month it was Valentines Day.  Everyone spread out on tables and made elaborate and not so elaborate Valentines keepsakes. We used all sorts of colored papers and tissue paper and stickers.  They colored with markers and glitter glue and cut with those scissors that have fancy edges to them.  During all of this we cocked our ears up as children came up in the middle or the front of the room to give their book reports.  Zoi was the first one up to tell about her new book on Labradores.  Later Zeke told about the Nancy Drew book that he was curently reading and then Zach got up later and told about the Science fiction book that he had recently read.
One boy even brought props to show what he had made after reading one of his books and let Zeke go home with the really cool, cardboard, sword that he had made.  I wish I would have taken pictures to share with you.  Maybe I will do that next month so you can get more of an idea of all of the fun that we have.
After we were finished I asked Zach to take his library card and check us all out some books while we helped to clean up the back room where we met to have the meeting.  I was a bit worried that I would have to go after him because he sometimes starts to read the book that he wants to check out and gets in another world but he did a great job and we were out of there without an incident.  Wow,  this is a first! No terrible tantrum from a toddler and no scene from a disgruntled five year old.  This was a great day indeed! Praise the Lord for small blessings.
On the way home we stopped by for a great run and play at the neighborhood park.  The kids said it was the best time they had had at the park yet! It was so good so see the little ones running in the nice green grass. Thank God for the rain!

Here are some of those scissors that we would like to sell to you if you are looking for some: look no farther!

These Valentines cut outs are really nice if you are in the market for them as well.

The Duggar's Corn Dip

Click on the picture to order
order the book or the package.
I am reading the Duggar's Book A Love That Multiplies and I really love it. Its so close to  my heart that I have to keep some tissue near by. In the book they share several recipes and I am enjoying that as well. Here is a really interesting dip that I have never heard of before.

Corn Dip

Mix Together:
3/4 stick of butter softened
8 oz. cream cheese

Stir In:
16 oz. frozen shoe peg white corn, cooked (she prefers Green Giant)
1 tsp. to 1 tbls. jalapenos, chopped or pureed (mild is pureed so that they can't be seen)
(I'd go with the tsp. version myself so that my zildren wouldn't complain)

They also recommend playing a game called Cornholes and you can find information about that by clicking on the banner below. This game reminds me of the bean bag toss. You can even use the game as a promotional tool for your business. They specialize in putting whatever pictures you want on the board so that you can advertise your brand.  Its pretty neat for that or just setting up in your back yard.  If you really wanted to get creative you could get a picture put on it to match your child's room decor.
