Zach's Ant Farm

Today I made an ant farm.

Here is what I used:

* a glass jar with metal lid
*dirt(from back yard)
*a little water
*a little sugar
*a little crushed crackers
*stick pin

1. First fill you glass jar with dirt.
2. Second, replace the lid and poke very small holes in the lid with stick pin.
3. Third, open the lid and put a little water, sugar and crushed crackers in.
4. Fourth, find ants in your back yard and carefully put them into your jar.

Now I am watching them eat their food. So far they have only eaten the sugar. It will be fun to watch them burrow into the dirt to make their tunnels. I tried this before but I had some cheap plastic covering the top of the jar and they got out and my Mom freaked out, and we all got ant bitten. How to Combat Boils!

Boils are infections in the hair follicle that have pus pockets under them. They can be small or they can be very large six inches or more. By the herbalist community, they are thought to be outward manifestations of a inward problem. The problem being, toxins or bad bacteria.
To begin with you should think very seriously about what you are putting into your body and what needs to be removed from your diet. Removing white sugar and anything that has it in it like candy, kool-aid sweetened fruit drinks, sodas, ect. will be a start. Learn to check labels for sugar and corn syrup as though you were allergic to it! Then you need to replace what you took out with something good and tasty; fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and good oils such as coconut oil, olive oil and flax. Don't forget to have your 8 glasses of purified or RO water with a pinch of sea salt on the tongue every second glass (sea salt is good if balanced with water) this is very important!
While you are working on your diet you need to apply a topical cream that will pull out the toxins from the boil and help to bring it to a head. Then you can move on to the bowel and the blood; cleansing, purifying and replacing with good flora.

Here is the program that was most recommended from the Herbalist in Natures Sunshine:

Black ointment applied several times a day directly to the area. you can also put a band aide large or small over that to protect clothing.
LBS-II to clean out the bowel
Probiotic-11 to replace the bad bacteria with good. (Flora)

Web Sites Loty Likes!

He also like Edheads which is a game for kids to practice surgery.

Ice Cream in a Tupperware!

The kids needed to learn that just because we were having a tough time with money didn't mean that we were destitute of a good ol fashioned good time. So I remembered an old book I read had spoken of iced desert.
Iced Dessert:
Oatmilk for the base
2 Sweetened chocolate squares melted in a little water(use whatever you have)
about two large scoops of peanutbutter melted in a little water
mix it all together with a blender or mixer I used a hand held beverage blender.
Then place your tuooerware into the freezer. If you start this one meal ahead of time then it is a great dessert or a snack. Ours was a little slushy but the kids didn't mind at all. I just crushed it all up with an awl you could use an ice pick or knife as well. Have a Blessed Day!

Beans, Rice and Oats!

Recently, my husband has not had a lot of work where he works and so God is teaching me how to make do with the items that we have in our pantry. We had a whole lot of beans so I started getting out my electric grain mill and my hand cranked one too so that the kids could have some fun and we made a whole lot of bean flour. I knew that we couldn't use bean flour exclusively so we got out the oats that we had and milled some oats as well. When that was done we added some brown rice flour and after that some white flour will be added.

Here are the winning recipes so far.

Meatless meat loaf:
bean flour or drained and smashed with a fork beans
bread crumbs/oats
can of corn
garlic salt
beef bullion or soy sauce
kidney beans
water if needed
egg if you have it or want it
tomato sauce, tomato soup, tomato paste or picante sauce on top

Bean Patties: (beanie burgers)
bean flour (make sure you have sprouted four or add a little pinch of baking soda)
beef or chicken bullion
garlic salt
fajita seasoning
a little water
oil for frying

Chicken Fried Steak or Chicken Nuggets: (with beans)
4 cups or more of cooked beans with not much water in them
1 can of spegghetti sauce
1 can of carrots
seasoning of your choice
2 cups of flour stirred in
dredge in flour and form into patties or nuggets
fry in a hot pan on about 7 on my stove, for a minute on each side or until golden brown on each side

Bread with mixed flours:
Preheat to 400 degrees
2 c. white flour
1 c. bean flour
1 c. oats or oat flour
1 c. carrots and sweet potatoes or just one or even some applesauce
4 tsp. yeast plus (half cup of water and one piece of smashed sweet potato for foaming of yeast)
2 tsp. baking powder
1 to 1 1/2 tsp of sea salt
plus a little water to mix it easily with wooden spoon. (not runny though)
Mix all together and let rise as far as it will go in two bread pans with plastic over it near warm heat not hot and cook for 14 or 15 minutes on 400 degrees

I have also used about a cup of the bean flour to thicken up soup. Beans have great nutrition lots of good protein and that also helps when you are trying to balance your sugars. I suspect you can just smash up beans real good and add some water to make it real mushy and that will work instead of flour if you don't have a mill. It works with oatmeal you can just make some on the stove or in the microwave and add it to your regular flour. With the oats you can add them as is.

Oat milk:
Cup of oatmeal or oat flour and water to cover about a cup. Cook with salt and add to a blender with some water. Also add vanilla and warm honey water for taste or whatever you wish. This is also good for a smoothie base. Oats are really good for the heart!

Rice milk:
1 c. warm or hot rice
tsp. of cinnamon or a cinnamon stick (if you like cinnamon)
4 cups hot water
1 tsp. vanilla (omit this if you are not using it for a sweet or to drink)
1/3 cup of honey or to your taste preference (omit if adding to a savory dish)
Add ingredients to your blender and puree for about 3 to 5 minutes until smooth. Let it stand for 30 minutes or more up to several hours. Then without shaking the rice milk into container. If you are not wanting to wait then you need to pour it through s cheesecloth. this makes 4 to 4 and a half cups.
